Declaration Grooming shaving soap

Recently I bought two declaration grooming, one is After The Rain（new version）, the other is Yuzu/Rose(old version). The scent and lather is good for me.
I'm curious that the two soaps are different. After the rain is a very soft state, but Yuzu/Rose is hard.
I guessed two possibilities:
First, Yuzu/Rose that I got is an early version, which has been left for a long time, the moisture of the soap evaporates and the soap becomes hard. So if after the rain is left for a while , it will become harder.
Second, different types of DG soaps have different softness and hardness, some are soft, and some are hard.
If anyone knows the reason, can you explain?

They have released multiple soap bases during the years. Their newest base (milskteak) is much more softer than the previous base (icarus), but both bases i find superb in all aspects (slickness, ease of lather and post shave)

Yes. I agree with you. DG shaving soap is at high-level. Easily lathering, creamy lather!

Are the labels of the same style? The label designs changed with each base introduction. There hasn't been any new soaps available at retailers or direct from DG until recently so I don't know how it would be older stock.

labels are changed. It’s possible that soap base is changed. So the softness and hardness are different. I got old style from a friend.

When the Milksteak base was met with rave reviews, Scott decided to put all his older soaps on sale to clear any inventory. Thus, all soaps currently for sale are Milksteak base. However, I still have tubs of the older bison tallow and Icarus formulas. I am sure there are still plenty of them in shaving dens.

If the labels are different, then you likely had two bases.  My guess is you have an Icarus base and a Milksteak base.

Yes. My friend has Darkfall which is Icarus base on the label. I have old version Yuzu/Rose, which is hard. But don’t see what is the base. Next time I will buy a new version Yuzu/Rose to compare. I like this scent.
