Today I had the pleasure of using my Semogue Torga C5. I purchased it after having my SOC a while & deciding I would like to try the shorter loft of the Torga. The bristles in the Torga seem the same marvelous quality as the SOC, but the shorter loft of the Torga makes the Torga rate slightly above the SOC, for me.

I'd like to Thank Eric MaineYooper for starting this thread and journey of Boar Brushes for DecemBoar. It was a fun month !! Finished with the appropriate Fluffy Ind. #86 Copper Handle with a Maggards 24mm Premium Boar Knot.

DecemBoar Curtain Call
[Image: 7zLs7kQ.jpg]
Try as I might, during my 13 months of Gentlemanly Shaving I lacked the ability to focus on any one thing for an entire month. The DecemBoar challenge was my first disciplined month, and I am glad to have made intimate acquaintance with the benefits of a boar. In the foreground are the three Omega brushes that were the stars of DecemBoar.

In the background are three new arrivals patiently awaiting their first use. Trying to downsize, I gave away a few brushes to new shavers during the year, but that seems to be like the hydra where two brushes replace the one. I am therefore looking forward to the discipline of the 2022 Year of Restraint. I hope to get better acquainted with the gear I keep, and give some away to ensnare others within my sphere of influence.

Thanks for starting this thread MaineYooper

Many thanks to all who participated and made this so much fun (as well as enabling!). I am very pleased to have found some wonderful boars. And, truth be told, I am anxious to use my synthetics again!

Here is to a Healthy and Happy New Year to us all!

Like Dave (who gave me the idea of a Maggards / Fluffy meet-up) I too went with my Fluffy Industries Hexagon brush.

I was so blessed to receive this great handle, I rushed to use it for my Christmas shave. Now that I believe I have a 'forever knot' in it, the Hexagon gets the honor of finishing off DecemBoar (and the year).

As my den is Tabac-free, I had to find another soap I could use that would not insult the quality of this brush. So, I was hedging towards a barbershop / cologne scent when it struck me: I have a tub of Chicago (Oleo) 'Classic Clean' that I really liked off the tub, but was too strong in use. As I'm still lacking in the ability to smell most soaps, this one struck me as a good choice. As of today, I only pick-up a faint smell. Perfect!

For the rest, I am going with the Henson Ti Medium, with a Personna CC blade. I've been going back and forth between this razor and my new Winning. I'm wondering if the Henson still holds the crown in my den.

I will say it, this Maggards knot ranks up there with the SOC brush... It is that good. I'm so glad Maggards finally got a boar, especially one so good.

It was a good, smooth shave with 3 passes and some cleanup. A good end to a good month. That said, I want to thank Eric MaineYooper for creating this little month-long adventure. It has been so fun, and educational.

Now, as Fluffy reminded us this morning, it's time to plan my first 2022 shave. It's an important one.

Have a great afternoon DFS![Image: 79e7bf61ed5c251d4f835c7d179eb1e2.jpg]
