SE razors seem to be gaining popularity. What advantages do they offer above DE razors?

Stiffer, longer lasting blades. And they satisfy the need to try something different.

Also they look really cool and make you more attractive. And stronger. And more intelligent.

And, the vintage SEs give much better shaves to my face than vintage DEs from Gillette. (The Le Coq is a whole different and awesome vintage DE, but not readily available.) Schick, Ever-Ready, Gem, etc. really nailed it, with really close SE shaves. As for moderns, the last couple of years have produced some awesome SEs using the Feather AC (Mongoose, ATT, etc.) and injector (Supply) blades. Still waiting for a modern Gem blade razor...

People marketing SE razors make money from people they made money off marketing DE razors. Audiophiles know the only compelling reason for CDs was market satration of LPs.

I couldn't get any better looking, but the other stuff sounds nice.

I need to grab one of these just to be able to annoy my wife with the name.

This x1000. Two companies have hinted at making one in the past, Rocnel and Colonial Razors. Still waiting for someone to come through with one of these.

SEs are for the day when you try your first Rockwell DE blade, and need a razor because your face is already lathered and ready to go. Ah, there is a Schick Adjustable in the cabinet just waiting for that moment when the blade you are trying is horrid.

SE blade longevity is outstanding.

Buy vintage. Leave the new production stuff to the guys with the big back pocket and SOD picture makers.
