Eric who is the Overlander Overlord...................Okay, that may be a little extreme but he is an extreme advocate of the razor and has been from the beginning. He loves his Brass one that he had replated in mirror nickel finish before they introduced the SS Model. He saw my video of the Styletto and heard me comment that while nice I think the Karve Overlander in Aluminum was better but could not remember and that I think I regretted getting rid of it. He just happened to have an Aluminum that he says he doesn't reach for often since he has his other one. Being the generous guy Eric is, he asked if he could send it to me. He knows I doing the restraint thing and have actually been sucessful so far this year and didn't want to spoil it. He said we could work out a trade if I wanted to keep it or just use it and send back when done. Thanks Eric MaineYooper for your always generous spirit. It indeed is a sweet shaver. I think I'll do a comparison shave on video this week with the Styletto tomorrow or Thursday.

That is a sharp looking razor!  Have you tried the Gem Damaskeene?  If so, are the two razors similar in smoothness?  I always enjoyed the Damaskeene shaves but haven't tried the Streamline yet

I have a couple Damaskeene's and I think they are smoother. The streamline is a good bit heavier and a great shaver but requires a little more attention to detail while shaving. Results can be equal though. Final thought...... Damaskeene wins in smoothness but Streamline wins in heft and cool factor Happy2

I concur Dave. Eric is such a nice guy and a great member. We're very lucky to have folks like him here.

Very nice setup... The razor and the brush look great together. A very photogenic pair. Lol.

Agreed on point one and on point 2 as well. Hoping to keep the two of them from breaking up Big Grin

Thank you both for the kind words. As Faramir says to Frodo in The Two Towers (J.R.R. Tolkien), "Praise from the praise-worthy is beyond all rewards."

Ah, you got me! I had to open my Kindle version and check it. It was spoken by Faramir, but to Samwise Gamgee, not Frodo Baggins!

Sam hesitated for a moment, then bowing very low: ‘Good night, Captain, my lord,’ he said. ‘You took the chance, sir.’ ‘Did I so?’ said Faramir. ‘Yes sir, and showed your quality: the very highest.’ Faramir smiled. ‘A pert servant, Master Samwise. But nay: the praise of the praiseworthy is above all rewards. Yet there was naught in this to praise. I had no lure or desire to do other than I have done.’ ‘Ah well, sir,’ said Sam, ‘you said my master had an Elvish air; and that was good and true. But I can say this: you have an air too, sir, that reminds me of, of – well, Gandalf, of wizards.’
