Great news Eric on the Spring run. I need to pick up a couple of extra tubs myself!

Ok, I've finally had enough shaves with Obi Hill to justify posting some good thoughts on it and hopefully this might push some fence sitters into grabbing a tub or two. In a few words, I love it! The performance is right up there with most of the tallow-based offerings out there by American artisans.

I'll start with the lather. This stuff practically lathers itself! No matter what brush I used (boar, badger or synthetic), mountains of lather were created in seconds. A very user-friendly soap. I found it to be above average in slickness and cushion and each shave ended irritation free. One area that is slightly lacking would be residual slickness. I'm not one to make continual strokes over the same unlathered area anyway so it doesn't bother me in the least. The slickness comes right back with the in-between-pass-rinse. It could be a lather hydration issue, but I'm pretty confident that I have this soap dialed in after about 15 shaves with it.

Now on to the scent! Oh the scent. At first I wasn't sure about it. The first thing that came to mind out of the tub was my favorite ice cream, black cherry with the little chocolate shavings in it. I usually don't prefer food-type scents. BUT, after using it more, I've grown to love it! Once lathered, the more earthy tobacco notes emerge and round out the scent nicely. It is definitely a sweet pipe tobacco that's heavy on the cherry. Writing this makes me want to go sniff the tub right now, lol. It is also the strongest scented soap that I own, which is awesome.

So all in all, I really like this soap. If you like sweet tobacco scents, you can't go wrong with Obi Hill. Kudos to kwsher and DapperDragon for coming up with it!

The last few tubs of Obi Hill that weren't spoken for have been added to our Etsy Store!

Picked up a sample of Scylla yesterday. Keep sniffing the soap, what a great scent! Nice ozone, floral, oud scent. Helios, Tiamat, and F&M are some other favorite DD scents.

I missed the limited run batch, but did catch the last eight tubs/leftovers posting... Just didn't act on it; I had some reservations having never tried Dapper Dragon before. Clearly, that was a mistake. A kind soul sent me a sample, which I reviewed extensively (http://tinyurl.com/jxgjofm). Long story short; I'm a believer in Dapper Dragon and really, really enjoyed Obi Hill! I truly hope it becomes a regular offering.

Forgot to mention that trying Obi Hill actually inspired my own #DapperDragonWeek of reviews, LOL - as I had two other samples that I had been sitting on. I review those extensively as well, if anyone's interested... Watermelon (http://tinyurl.com/jykpk6o) and Pomegranate (http://tinyurl.com/z8cp5no).

In any event, I definitely plan to pick up some (more) Dapper Dragon soaps! Good stuff, good scents, good value.
