Karl, thanks for working so hard to get the international shipping costs down to a "reasonable" number. For any Canadian members or other international members who may have checked out the Crowne & Crane offerings and balked at the rather high shipping charges you can now select the USPS first class international option for under $15. I now have a Caribbean Spice and a Tobacco and Amber on their way. I'll be able to compare the tallow and vegan formulas.

I want to thank you again Karl for all the support you've given me in making sure I could get the cheapest possible international shipping to Canada and also for taking care of the glitch with respect to the DFS September discount which wasn't showing as available to my address - its all fixed, I got the discount, I'm getting the soap I wanted and all appears to be right with the world. Karl's customer service is second to none. If you've been sitting on the fence waiting to buy some Crowne & Crane I'd go for it now and take advantage of the September discount. Happy2
Thanks,
Marko

Great deal here. I was out of lavender soap and was thinking about getting a soap based around cedar so I picked up #2.

I received my order from Crowne & Crane earlier this week after it was held up by Canadian Border Services - they had to open it up to see what smelled so darn good Big Grin No harm done and the soap eventually arrived at my door. I shaved with the Caribbean Spice soap yesterday. I'll do my best to give you my thoughts on the soap but I've started my winter beard so I'm just shaving my neck area for the next few months so I can't give a whole face report for the time being.

Nice packaging, similar to the Shaver's Heaven tubs but slightly smaller diameter and sufficient head room for drama free brush loading. The scent of this one is strong enough, emphasis more on the spice than bay rum but you can definitely pick up the bay rum. I have soft water and lathering is usually not a problem for me and this one was no exception. I used the Semogue Owners Club boar and the lather built up quickly. Nice face feel, scent maintains in to the lather well and the the razor, in this case the Feather AS-D2 loaded with a fresh Feather blade, had no issues knocking off the stubble. Slick enough and enough lather to do a 3 pass shave. I likely would have loaded a little more if I were shaving my whole face but I don't think quantity or quality of the lather should be an issue. Post shave face feel was good and I finished off with some super hazel followed by some Chatillon Lux Tea Tree Roborant. A DFS for sure.

I think Crowne & Crane has come out with a very decent opening lineup from a quality of soap perspective and the scent selection is good as well. If you're a bay rum fan, as I am, then Caribbean Spice is likely a soap you should consider adding to your collection. And that pirate skull on the label is pretty cool as wellBig Grin

Received my order today and did a test lather of the Lavender & Cedar. The lather is fantastic and took little effort. The scent is enjoyable too. I will shave with it later today. Thanks!

I already have the Sandalwood vegan, Citrus Melange tallow, Lavander & Cedar tallow, and I just ordered the Tobacco & Vanilla vegan tub. I think Karl has hit the nail on the head in terms of performance and scent in 3 that I have already been using, so I've no reason to expect anything but greatness from the T & V as well!
