I have read reports of how sharp these blades are.  I viewed a deep-dive test of blades where the Bic was supposed to be one of the sharpest.  I love the sharp blades so have tried Bic on three different occasions and have had to chuck all three tucks away due to not exhibiting any sharpness.  Am I puzzled?  Yep.  Do I think you gents that like them are liars?  Nope.  But either I have a record of perfection at getting their “duds” or this blade simply won’t work for me.  To hear that they have QC issues and the solution is to move on to the next blade would lead me to ask “why”?  Feather is consistent blade after blade.  Personna is consistent blade after blade.  The only time I’ve found a dud was with Voskhod and that was just one.  (They weren’t sharp enough anyway so I PIFed them).  I really want to believe that Bic is sharp.  I want to have a choice of a blade outside of St Petersburg.  But alas, these have treated me no better than the ever-dull Merkur blade and I will not partake.

These are a 1 and done blade for me!! Neither the Ti95DC or the Ti Blackbird worked past 1 shave with these... I purchased a tuck last year because they got such great reviews and upon that 1st shave I thought, maybe ya'll are on to something here, and then I had shave #2 that I couldn't even get through the WTG pass without having to replace the blade... Once replaced it was a great shave but #2 again was a no go!! I went through 4 of the 5 blades and all were the same so blade #5 just went in the trash and I haven't looked back!!

I was given a tuck some time ago with a razor purchase, and the performance was so so, a one a done average blade. From all the rave reviews I thought they have gotten better, so I bought a 100 pack. I tried a few randomly picked blades from them and the performance was terrible for each and every one of them, as if if these blades were pulling the hairs rather than cutting which lead to a very uncomfortable experience. Aggravation received and money lost.

Like the blade is cutting halfway through the hairs and then just ripping the other half off, grab and snatch.  Sad

Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

It's like the blues, the best stuff comes from dead guys.

I have a course beard and sensitive skin. I like my blades to be very sharp, yet still smooth. For me, BIC Chrome Platinum are some of the best blades I have ever used. Yes, I have occasionally come across a bad one, but not very often. I have come across occasional bad blades with every brand I have tried. If a company makes a million blades and 99.99% of them are good, that still means there will be 100 bad ones in the lot.

I was given about 25 of them for free.  I've used them with the Blackbird, iKon Tek, and the Alpha Bandit.
So far they've all been good blades.  No bad ones yet.  That might change as I go through them.  Or not.

I've gone through about 100, not a single dud blade thus far.

I have 3500 more to go so I'll update this thread if I come across one Big Grin
