Any other CPAP users have shaving issues?
Did you solve them?

I use my pirated CPAP machine every night, with a full face (nose and mouth) mask.
I’m beginning to notice that with almost every shave I get nicks on my chin.
Sometimes worse than others?  (An Alum block typically fixes the blood letting...)
I’m sure that this is because that part of my chiseled face is pretty much steamed all night.
(I shower before every shave...)

I’ve tried putting Good Oleo, hyaluronic acid or after shave, on my face before sleep.
It’s not the end of the world, I’d just like it to stop.
Any ideas about an overly hydrated puss??

The chin is always particularly difficult area for me. Maybe shooting for slightly below BBS in the problem areas would reduce problems.

No cpap anymore but mask wearing is causing similar for me. A good face cleanser (not just soap) used to scrub clean seems to help somewhat. Not a total cure but help clean pores good to minimize the red bumps that get lopped off.

Posting Freak
Have you tried doing a pass with the alum block before shaving? Maybe after you face wash. I can see how the constant contact with the mask might lead to over sensitive skin in that area. I’ve never used the full mask but the nose mask until last fall snd I’ve now switched to the F&P Evora mask which is like a modified nasal pillows but without anything that sticks into your nostrils. None of these masks are perfect

Now that’s got good idea all over it.
Thanks Marco!
I’ll give it a try and report back!

I have to ask, what is a "pirated" CPAP machine? I'm aware of what a CPAP machine is, but the pirated part is confusing to me.

I bought mine online, without any silly sleep study.

gone to Carolina in my mind
I use a CPAP machine with no issues.  I switched from a full face to a smaller mask, but not, in my case, for shaving reasons.  The smaller mask  covers the whole chin, jaw, and upper lip through the nose, but leaves the cheeks and neck uncovered.  It is cooler, and it allows me to wear my glasses if needed.  When I do get nicks, they are typically in one of a few neck trouble spots - places which are not covered even by the smaller mask (or the straps).  But we all have different skin, and perhaps a smaller mask will help you.

And since we are trading notes ... FWIW my routine has been to sponge wash and soak my face for two to three minutes, keeping the sponge well soaked in comfortably hot water.  I have no problem taking the time to do this.  My problem is putting the sponge down because it is entrancingly pleasant.  These ...

... are cheap, larger than typical makeup sponges, and easy to use with one or two hands.

I would follow up the hot water soak with a second wash (Lucky Tiger Face Wash or Phisoderm) and/or the application of InstaNatural Hyaluronic Acid Serum.  FWIW I was drawn to the InstaNatural brand because aloe, sodium hyaluronate, and glycerin are high on the ingredient list.  Lately, I have skipped the second wash, and sometimes the Serum.  I haven't yet drawn any definite conclusions, but a two minute hot water soak and wash seems to be about as good as adding a traditional cleanser wash.  I've not yet made up my mind about the serum, but time will tell.  In any case, if I had to retain exactly one additional thing, it would be the InstaNatural HA Serum, which may add some benefit, is quick and easy to apply, and equally quick and easy to reapply between passes if desired.
