I've got several of those soaps and will have to give them a try in combination. You mentioned a couple of First Canadian soaps - how do you find the fragrance strength in those? I picked up a First Canadian Bay Rum last year and it honestly had virtually no fragrance. It performed all right but if I wanted an unscented soap I would have ordered one.

Thanks for the great tips.

Marko, I would say that those are lightly scented, but it's still present. Certainly not as strong as some can be, however.

Glad to know its not just me. Losing my sense of smell would really suck. Sad I have the same issue with some other soaps too, OSP for one. I have the MLSW Reunion and its pretty lightly scented as well and the 2 V2 CRSW I have are very lightly scented. Soapers should make a mild line for people with known scent sensitivities and a regular scented line for those that want to actually smell the product - you read the (according to TSE) hyperbole (hyperbolic?) descriptions and are really looking forward to sticking your nose in and ...almost nothing - you're sniffing the tub like a blood hound on an escaped convict's scent but still nothing. What we have there is a failure to communicate...scent that is Smile

Just placed an order for La Quatrième Ville. Couldn't decide between the aftershave or the toner so I ordered both! God I love vetiver...

hawns  I shaved with MLSW Reunion, Wolfman gillette stainless and finished it off with La Quatrieme Ville Just an absolutely awesome shave and the post shave feel and smell of LQV is incredible.    I want to order some of the toner and salve but I also want another sample of the aftershave - any idea when samples of LQV aftershave will be available?  Its funny, I thought I might develop a preference for one of the toner, salve or aftershave formats of your products but I love all of them in every scent.

LQV and Réunion were unknowingly made for each other, it seems like. I am expecting those sample containers to be in within a few days, so we'll be able to make samples by this Saturday at the latest, but probably sooner because I have a pretty easy schedule this week and am very close to being caught up on customs.

Also, that's the reason that we're not axing the toner. People were worried that the aftershave would elbow the toner out of the line up, but it offers things that neither of the other two can.

hawns thats good to hear - both on samples and the plans to retain all 3 formulations.

I recall reading something about Steve Jobs and Apple when they were discussing a new product, someone said that the new product would cannibalize an existing Apple product. Jobs' response was that if they didn't cannibalize it someone else would. New product proceeded. Lesson is don't fear cannibalizing your own product, fear other people doing it so beat them to it. Drive innovation.
Thanks,
Marko

I'm also waiting for samples of the LQV to be ready before placing an order. I have a couple of your toners which are great, but I can't wait to try the alcohol-based splashes!

I'm with you on this one Marko. It is such a letdown every time I buy a soap with a light scent. Anymore I just avoid the brands that I experienced that with and stick to the ones that I know have stronger scents.
