I also pay little attention to gender marketing. Two of my favorite scents are Piguet's Bandit and Juliette Has a Gun's Midnight Oud, both "women's" perfumes. The Midnight Oud has a feminine feel to it, but the Bandit does not (to my nose).

Hi hawns , I just saw that Blackberry Blossom Bay will be making a comeback in September! Thats awesome. I also like your plan to price them high and donate the premium to charities involved in rebuilding the areas where the bay is grown. Its always good to be able to give something back.

Are you able to provide any details around the pricing and where the sets will be available? I saw something on Top of the Chains coming soon page so I'm hoping there will be some available there.

I'm really excited about this release, and the use of its net proceeds. Shawn, have you thought about how you might structure these sales so US customers (who are still able under the new tax regime) can claim charitable deductions for the appropriate portion of the purchase price? Not a deal killer for me if you can't, but it would be a nice twist. It would also make the "charitable" part of the transaction very transparent.

The details are still getting worked out and I'm researching charities, but I have a fairly small amount of West Indies bay essential oil that would not be enough to make a decent quantity. Then the other day I was telling someone that if they wanted to see more Blackberry Blossom Bay then they should donate to help the recovery efforts and it it him me that maybe I should put my money where my mouth is. I don't know pricing yet, but it will definitely be pricey. For instance, if it were in an Icarus base from Declaration, it would probably cost around $120 for the set (soap, aftershave and fragrance) at normal retail prices. So it would obviously be a good amount more than that.

Since this is just an idea I had the other day, I also can't give any information about distribution. The problem is that I don't have a ton of fragrance, and if I wholesale it, then that would greatly reduce the amount of money we could donate to the relief efforts. But I haven't had a chance yet to really dig into any types of workarounds.

CCity That is a good question. I didn't even think about it, but that's a great point. I'll put some research into that. Also, I definitely plan on being transparent about the donation, for sure. I just haven't had a chance to crunch numbers yet as far as cost per unit and the quantity of product we could make with the amount of oil I have on hand.

Today, for the first time, I used the sample of the 2018 LE aftershave Shawn sent me with my last order. (Thanks, Shawn!) As I understand it, this is the AS he had at Maggard's meet-up, and serves as the foundation of the Eau de Treget EdT coming out in a few weeks. I find the scent very interesting--sweet and fruity. I had guessed plum until I reread this thread, but now I know it's peach--with my sniffer, I'm impressed with myself that at least I got a stone fruit note from the impressive scent! To me, it doesn't resemble Delor de Treget much, except for the fruit presence, but--did I mention?--my sniffer is not very discerning.

In any event, I love the AS, and look forward to getting the Eau de Treget.

Awesome, thank you! Glad you're enjoying it! It definitely is more of a cousin than a sibling of Delor de Treget: they share the same DNA, but you wouldn't look at them both and immediately realize they are related. I tried to go back to the first scent I ever made and think of my intentions for it (since it was my first scent, I wanted to make it pretty generally likable) and then thought about that through the lens of having years of experience. So this is what I would do if I had the same mission today, with my gained knowledge and experience, to fulfill this creative goal.

I used “Clamorgan” for the first time this evening, and I LOVE IT! An outstanding take on a Barbershop Scent! I used it to finish off a shave with Grooming Dept’s “After The Fire” for an excellent finish to an awesome Shave! So glad I snagged two bottles, I’ll be sad when this one is gone. Well done!

Thank you, I'm glad you're digging it. I tried to imagine what a scent would smell like if I combined the classic scent of a 18th century men's grooming parlor with something more modern and musky. It's a hard balance to strike, but I'm glad you're enjoying it. I've never smelled it, but my dad said it reminds him of Russian Leather before it was changed to English leather at the advent of the Cold War.

Either way, that was just a very long-winded way of saying I'm so glad you're enjoying it!

I too made a big mistake when Clamorgan was released. I purchased only two bottles.
I think it is the most elegant (if I can use this term) of all AS’s that I have tries so far. I hope it can find a spot in the regular production line.
By the way, I have the impression that the intensity of the basil note has decreased over time, or I may have become more used to it, but I like it even more now.

That's awesome! It's my dad's favorite, as well, and says it reminds him an aftershave smell from his childhood. I don't think it was popular enough to do add to the lineup permanently because I already probably have more scents in regular production than I probably should, but I also would definitely be open to doing another run of it, no doubt.

Clamorgan is my favorite Aftershave from Chatillon Lux, and that’s saying a lot. I too only purchased two bottles, and I’m more than half way through my second bottle . I’m definitely hoping this one makes a return, one of the best Barbershop scents I’ve ever smelled!
