So how 'bout that Maggard aftershave?! Damn that smells good.

This scent, for example, didn't do much for me when I first got the aftershave, but the more I used it, the more I liked it. This is an important test for me.
Music is a great analog. If I hear an artist/song I immediately like, I caution myself that my affection may not last. And it usually doesn't. Give me some Radiohead, however, and I know after many listens I will like it much more than I did after the first.
Thanks! That's awesome to hear. Some of my favorite scents took me a few wears to truly enjoy. Also, I also used to love Radiohead but kind of drifted away when In Rainbows came out. However, I finally started watching Ozarks on Netflix and when a newer Radiohead song that I had never heard came on, I was digging it. So maybe it's case in point there. I guess I'll have to revisit the latter-day catalog.
OK, not a Radiohead fan but I enjoyed Ozark. There is a lot of cool music on some of the Netflix productions, like the music on Peaky Blinders which is an awesome series. Other shows I enjoyed on Netflix, although the music escapes me include Spotless and Fauda - Fauda is excellent and best watched in its original Hebrew/Arabic with english subtitles for maximum effect. Now back to our originally programmed scent related discussion....
hawns if you've watched Peaky Blinders you may know that the hair styles sported by the Shelby brothers have become popular among young men today. Who knew that hairstyles from the 1920s would be so popular but so it is with style - my question would be, what sorts of aftershaves and scent would those guys have worn? 1920s Birmingham gangsters? Any ideas?

BoarderPhreak, when I met Shawn in St. Louis a couple of weeks ago, he gave me a small sample to try out and I used it for the first time today. I absolutely agree with you about the scent and think, like his STL Meet-up aftershave of last year, this is one that could be part of his seasonal or permanent lineup. However, what really got to me is how it felt. It reminds me of Geo. F. Trumper Coral Skin Food in that it is a splash but absorbs into my skin almost immediately leaving it feeling supple, smooth, and dry. There is no oily feel whatsoever and I like that. Today, I took a quick Gillette Fusion/canned gel shave but finished off with the Maggard Meet-up aftershave and felt as if I had had a complete and proper wet shave. This is definitely some good stuff for me.

Peaky Blinders is on my binge list, but I figured with the new season of Ozark coming soon I better catch it.
Also, that is an outstanding question. In my mind, they go with Clubman. Seems like the bold, hyper-masculinity of the scent would be too perfect of a match!

Thanks, glad you guys (and
Also, Freddy, awesome to hear that the alchol-based aftershave is still treating your skin so well...even if you are stuck using the canned goo!

A new season of Ozark?! Thanks, that should be interesting because the way they ended the first season it was conceivable that there wasn't going to be an more - I think I can say that without giving anything away if you're not through it yet.

Is this the Lamplight Penance or something else?
It is the scent that will become the Eau de Treget EdT. It is Delor de Treget at its heart, but with added peach, rose, lily of the valley, vetiver and oakmoss (in addition to the orange, grapefruit, lavender, labdanum and cedarwood) to make it more of a modern chypre. Something a little more in-depth in order to make it stand up better at EdT strength.
