I think it may be related to how when you add a few drops of water to a whiskey it opens up the scent bouquet.

When applying fragrance, it is recommended to use lotion and moisturize in order to make the scent last longer as dry skin can eat it up. For many people, they get the best performance overall when they apply to damp skin.

I recently got YRP aftershave and that does last all day.
If I apply salve then toner, would that make the scent last longer, too?

Quite possibly. It all depends on the skin chemistry. Some people say the toner lasts longer and I wonder if they have dry skin. So my guess it would if you have dry skin, but at the same time, really so would any moisturizer under that theory.

I own 8 different CL splashes and haven't found one that doesn't last a good couple hours. Many of them are very versatile and can be worn with different soaps, the pairing list is helpful on their site

I have many CL products and work as a line cook in a hot kitchen as a living, I can still smell the products on my face at the end of the shift 6 hours after applying. Stuff is for real, but I use the aftershave and salve together for a lasting effect.
