Brian will be on the move again. After the summer he is moving (with family) to Oregon. This is a family decision. Anyway if you read information about the move on his website he will be stopping production completely and a new model for making razors (heads and handles) will be instituted once the move is complete. What might complicate the move is the situation we have in the country. So it is possible (probable) that the razors and handles currently for sale will not be offered when production ramps up again. Currently Brian is developing a new razor head from scratch. The head might be medium aggression but but an overall better shaver. Brian is also developing a new handle. So instead of having ten different handles (and three heads) he might only have one. The handle will be parts of his most popular handles that customers like. Also the machining will be farmed out to a machine shop. Shane from Blackland Razors had suggested this to Brian on Instagram.

I don't have a picture of the new head but here is two handles that will be considered.  The handles will be 90 mm long and aboureet 14 mm wide. This information is released with Brian's permission and I in no way are compensated for sharing this information.  Personally I like the handle on the right.

I'm going to miss Brian's wild handle designs, but this is a smart play. Do you know if the handle on the right is one piece? I can't tell if I'm seeing seams at the transitions from the curved ends to the straight middle segment or if those are photo artifacts.

Oh yes and the handle offered will be hollow thus reducing razor weight to only about 79 grams. Pricing according to Brian will be $125 - $150 with titanium being more.

Shane you are correct. Will be two piece.

It's too bad this is the direction Brian has decided to take. Those 2 handles are ugly and look like an overly simplistic and lazy design. The complete opposite of what I'm accustomed to from CG. If any of those handle are the final design, it alone is a deal breaker for me even at the new reduced price. I wish he kept his maze and hammer handle around.

The one on the left is very similar to the Bishop. I have one of those in stainless and modified it for a better grip, as I've been known to do  Rolleyes

I too prefer the handle on the right. I would prefer if Brian increased the diameter of the bottom portion to be just a bit larger. The part with the 3 grooves, should be a bit larger than the smooth part above ... IMHO.

Here is the modified Bishop, sort of a 'hammered' Bishop ;

Im shocked that the magnum/hammered handle isn't the most popular one.

Better to have CG around then not; dunno I will try any head design Brian makes but I dont necessarily believe gen 2 was an improvement to gen 1...

Let me clarify the handle. It is three pieces pressed together with an hydraulic press and hollow.

So the Maze and Hammer are the only two current CG handle designs you like? What is it about the maze design you like as opposed to the Original Bishop on the left in that posted image?
