in that order IMO

I would put those razors in the following order with respect to smoothness:

CG L3
R41 2013
R41 2011

Regarding efficiency, I find the CG L3 and R41 2011 essentially equal, with the R41 2013 just slightly behind. The CG L3, both OC and SB, give me a shave as close as any razor I've tried (including the Shavecraft Tech), but is more pleasant than the others.

I just used the CG level 3 OC today with the magnum hammered handle. With a Rapira platinum lux blade, it was one of the closest, smoothest shaves I've ever had.

level 2 with the magnum handle is now my favorite razor.

just really good combination of efficient and the perfect amount of feel/feedback.

YMMV

I like an aggressive but smooth razor. My first CG was a Lv3 OC and it is great. Next a Lv2 SB and it is good in that it gets the job done, but not enough blade feel. Too smooth, like the Wolfman Guerrilla. I finally got a Lv2 OC, anticipating I'd find it more aggressive than I found the Lv2 SB, and it is. I'm very happy with it. I have Lv3 SB on the way, and i'm anxious to see how that feels on my particular face.

Of the Muhle R-41 I've only got the 2011 version. TBH I stuck it in the closet after a few go rounds and haven't had the urge to try it again. It is close as they come, but I have to be too careful to enjoy the shave. I'm keeping it in case I ever get the yen to try it again. I've never had the 2013 version so I can't comment on that.

CG lvl2 is my best razor. I have a lvl3 base plate on order. Its so smooth and efficient even when loaded with sharp Feather blades or the like. 2 passes is all it takes for me with no irritation. And what i like most is the antique designs surely dont get tired looking at it.

Did you end up getting one?

Charcoal Goods L2 is simply put, my all time favorite razor.

I have a brass one and a copper one, both with hammered handles!!

A razor, well 2, in that I would like both bronze and copper, that I think I am more likely to pick up on various BSTs than the official site
From reading various reports I think I will target lvl 1 or 2 as lvl 3 may be a little aggressive for daily use

Different strokes for different folks. I don't really like a Lv2 SB that much. A Lv 2 OC works very well for me, and either SB or OC in a Lv 3. I've never tried a Lv 1 so I cannot comment on that. If it is anything like the Feather ASD-2, or the Pils, which I found a bit more efficient than the Feather, but neither was 'good' enough for me. A .61 Wolfman is minimally acceptable, while a .58 Blackbird is real good. I guess it is fair to say I prefer an aggressive razor.
