This is so surprising. I don't know for sure, but I believe Brian is a young man. The possibility that he will cease production is startling. I once mentioned that James Dufour might decide to get out of the razor business at some future date and the fact that he is a relatively young fellow was mentioned. Just goes to show that life is unpredictable. I wish Brian the best wherever he may go.

I believe that you are correct - I'm fairly certain that he's a fairly young guy.....and that yep, life is unpredictable. I didn't feel it was in my place to pry as to why he may not continue. There are any number of reasons for him (possibly) not reopening the shop. It's quite possible that sales aren't a factor in the equation whatsoever. However, let's face it...it seems that there's someone putting out a new razor, even in the mid to high-end range on a monthly basis.

While it's a great time to be in this hobby from a consumer standpoint, with the plethora of hardware and software, it's gotta be tough on the folks making the products. It's become a crowded space in just a few short years. Especially in the software market. And, let's face the fact that, overall, we hobby shavers are a fickle bunch - always chasing the latest and greatest. Before you know it, there are more soap containers piled up than you could use in two lifetimes.

Whatever Brian has going on in his life, and wherever his journeys take him, I sincerely wish him the best. We can only hope that someday in the future he can continue on making the beautiful razors that so many of us cherish.

Does anyone have both gen 1 & 2 of the antique brass heads? If so could you do a side by side of them? Curious if they weigh the same and have similar profiles. I love the gen 1 brass because it’s so small and nimble. My gen 2 SS seems to be a lot bulkier tho.

Just a quick shout out to Brian. The last week we have close to a dozen emails of him answering all and any of the questions I could come up with. Always with a prompt cordial response. Customer service like that is something that I respect and makes me want to be a continued customer. I really hope he continues to produce items for this hobby in the future as it would be a huge loss if he stops.
