My wife gave me this soap for my birthday. When she purchased it the display sign stated it was great for shaving.
The box made no such claim. On the web site Kala Style Cedar wood they have a touchy feely new age description. But no claims for use as a shaving soap. It is sold as a bath soap.

So I was skeptical. I did not even put the soap in a mug as I was sure it would wind up in the shower. I held it in my hand to lather.

It smells very nice. It quickly built a nice lather. The lather lasts through my 4 pass shave.
It was slick but could have used just a touch more cushion.

I was very pleasantly surprised. For $8 this was a very good shave soap. I installed it in a mug after the first use.

This is the ingredient list.

I absolutely love this stuff as a bath soap, but had never considered it as a shaving soap. Thanks for the info.

That is definitely a bath soap per the ingredients.
