I recently had shoulder surgery and been using a Gillette skin guard cart razor....still lathering up with artisan soaps ect...
however, I’ve been having excellent shaves LOL

I’m glad you’re getting excellent shaves. Good luck recuperating quickly and completely.

I hope your shoulder surgery s a success mine from @2 years ago is worse and more painful than before i had it done and no point doing it again. Some get relief and some realize it is what it is. I hope you get relief !

Hope that shoulder works well. REHAB my friend will pay big dividends.  And a Skin Guard is my travel razor when I carry on for short trips.  Room in the pool for everyone I think.  Yep, it’s wet shaving.  Thanks for the post my man!

I used to use my Fusion back when, you know, we could travel and to your point, after having learned the proper technique and prep, my shaves were awesome even with a razor that I learned to hate due to its "poor performance".

I don't plan on using them other than when traveling, but when I did, I didn't feel bad about it either.

Cheers.

Does that thing have a power button?!?
Yes, they have.
First is Fusion5 Power.
Last is Fusion Power FlexBall. The best IMHO.

Thanks for all the replies and kind words.

Shoulder is healing nicely and rehab therapy is going very well.

I do believe that from years of DE and straight shaving my technique is making all the difference with the cart razor.
Back in the day when I used a cart I would just rake the things on my face with pressure which would cause a lot of skin problems.

Now that I use a 3 pass with good technique....and no pressure, my shaves are excellent!! BBS and silky smooth LOL

My skin has never felt better Wink

However, I still love the feeling of a nice single blade.

Actually, as pure performance, hitech razors are unbelievable.
But I find boring to use them.
No personality.
