Are you still considered a “wet shaver” if you use carts?

I recently had shoulder surgery and been using a Gillette skin guard cart razor....still lathering up with artisan soaps ect...
however, I’ve been having excellent shaves LOL

Wet shaving literally means with water (no dry electric razor). So yes, definitely IMO.

Now there's Traditional and Modern. Since your using a modern razor with traditional brush and bowl lathering, maybe you can call it Hybrid wet shaving?

I don't know. You could also call it "I just had surgery, don't judge me wet shaving"... But that's quite a long name. Lol!

I had an amazing shave this morning again with the skin guard, lathered up with some MWF.
Skin feels so smooth and silky.

I think YES, when I use all the technique acquired in this years of wetshaving.
A person who buy a classic razor is not a wetshaver.
A wetshaver can use properly even a W&D modern shaver.

I think he's saying the techniques and info you learned from traditional shaving:

Preshave; traditional lathering; Multiple passes; grain mapping; multi directional; light touch; buffing; etc.

I haven't used a multi-blade razor in years, but I'd imagine some (most?) of it would translate into a boon for your shave, regardless of the actual tool.

But, I don't think anyone here is saying, "let's all use 5-blade carts now".
