There are a few things about the Carbon Razor Company that bother me, which I would like to discuss here.

1) With the possible exception of the R2-Ti, I mostly don't care for their handles.  Yet they do not offer a head only option.  You can buy stands, baseplates and handles a la carte, but not the topcap.  So if you want to buy a Carbon Razor head, you have no other choice but to buy the complete razor and try to sell the handle.

2) I have seven (7) razors, and all of those handles fit the Carbon Razor head, but the Carbon Razor handle does not fit any of those razor heads.  None.  Yet Carbon sells those proprietary handles a la carte; which seem to only fit Carbon Razors.  So those who find their handles appealing (and there are many wet-shavers who do), will be disappointed to discover that the Carbon handle does not fit their razor head.

I will add that this is, unfortunately, academic as all the complete razors are Sold Out on the website.

Luckily I love the R2 handle and I have come to appreciate the R1 handle. Handles with standard threading may seem to fit, at least once screwed tightly, but there's definitely some wobble when screwing. I'd be worried about stripping the threads over time. Maybe make a post to ask for suggestions of handles with the same thread size as the Carbon CX razors? I suspect there will be some out there.
