Can I get some JabonMan/Eufros Tallow Soap review?

Hi Zac -- for me at least, the Brisa is more sweet than spicy. I get mostly the cardamom/cinnamon like note and a vanilla like warmth. Ylang Ylang at least for me is stronger and closer to the Dr. Pepper/syrup-y note. Unless others, I have found all the scents to be stronger in the tub than when lathering. LIke many others here, my sample of Fougere Tallow v2 has a relatively faint/light scent when compared to the other soaps I received with it. It's too bad because the scent itself is very nice -- to my nose more herbal and woodsy than most fougeres.

Is anyone else having issues with their tallow v2 soaps not lathering?

Tim, this comes as a total surprise. I've only seen one other person on another forum who was struggling when using a sample, yet when he received a full tin, all was OK.
This V2 version does have reduced coconut oil and more tallow compared with the first batch he made(V1). Whereas with V1 I can start with either a damp or wet brush and achieve good lather, I do find V2 benefits starting with a drier brush. I don't soak brushes, but merely hold them under a running tap whilst the sink fills, then I swish the brush in the sink for 10- 15 seconds. I squeeze the brush, dip the tips in the water, a slight shake, and begin to load. I usually repeat dipping the tips a further 2 or 3 times. Total loading time is around 30 seconds. I then scoop the remaining proto lather off the soap and add it to the brush. I wet my face, use swirling motions to mix the proto lather with the face water, then I use paintbrush strokes to thicken it. I generally find I need to dip the brush in the water a coupe more times and repeat the swirling, followed by the paintbrush strokes.
I do try not to thoroughly rinse my face before relathering for second and third passes as I don't want to add too much water to the mix.

I now have 8 different scents, all in V2, and don't have any issues. In fact, after seeing your post, this morning, I used the V2 Fougère that I received yesterday. It all went flawlessly.

TIm, my experience with V2 has been similar to David's. The soap seems to be pretty straightforward to lather and not too sensitive to technique. That said, starting with a drier brush, loading longer and adding a few drops of water 2 times during the load seems to be the ticket. This is my typical technique when loading tallow soaps with badger brushes, and I do more or less exactly the same routine as David. Get a good amount of proto lather in the brush, some initial swirls on the face to work it in to the hairs and skin, and then paint brush strokes to thicken it up. Then hydrate as needed by wetting the tips of the brush and painting until shiny. Otherwise, using the same technique with a synthetic should make it a breeze as you don't have to load nearly as much.

I tried again tonight with tallow Fougere. Added more water while loading and was rewarded with top notch lather. Amazing. Thanks for the tips.

Just received the Dama de Noche and Ylang Ylang in the premium tallow base. What fantastic soaps. Takes a ton of water. The lather is thick, slick, and gooey. No air bubbles. The scents of both are fantastic. This is a top tier soap for sure. Wow!!!

I can see my SAD getting out of control. What scents next? Rosa Bourbon? Fougere? East Breeze?

Yes, I corresponded with Manuel and he hoped it would be ready by the end of the month. It is taking a lot of will power holding off until then.
