Introducing Cades Cove. This is a scent that @cmhobbies brought to me, and immediately we knew it had to happen. Chris says this about Cades Cove:
“In East TN there lies a once remote region that long ago served as a pathway through the Great Smoky Mts. Over time the population swelled into numbers as high as 700 w/in approximately 30 years of settlement. This mostly self sustained rustic populace traveled and traded with the nearby city of Maryville, now a suburb of Knoxville.
Fast forward to the present, history has turned the tide and the Cove is now the most visited area of the National Park. This peaceful stretch of valley grassland is ensconced by the densely forested Smokies, tranquil streams, and is a haven for numerous deer and black bear, and the endangered Red Wolf can also be found in the region. Many longstanding historic homesteads, churches, and mills are open to the general public to stop and explore at no cost. It is a place near and dear to the hearts of not just Tennesseans, but the South-Eastern U.S. in general.
This scent is an homage not just to this area in high spring/early summer, but to East TN in general. The idea reached its infancy in the last quarter of 2019 and ideas for the scent were all over the place. The ecology of the area releases a variety of different events in the air depending on the time of year, so picking just one representation was a bit of challenge. It was decided that it would best be represented by something bright and green rather than the dark, smokey pine aroma that emanates in colder weather.
We were able to craft a blend from the spring/summer ecology of the area. The end result is one of the best scents Talbot has created to date: A delicious bouquet of sun-kissed sage grass wrapped in a honeysuckle that dried down into subtle summer sweet blackberries. Over time, very subtle notes of pine and green notes reveal themselves. Those familiar with this beloved area of the south will surely be transported back to memories of rolling grasslands, sunny blue skies, and rustic old homesteads.”
Release info will be available as @maolgrooming and I wrap up production.
