Brand New Razorock Game Changer 1.05-P SB Base Plate!!!

There's a lot more that goes into how a razor shaves than just blade gap and blade exposure.Shape and thickness of bar or teeth ,
method of blade clamping ,surface of blade clamping area ,
weight and center of balance  and blade angle are just few examples 
of variables that define how a razor shaves.
In the new 2023 Guerrilla series James "fixed" few "issues" that the 
older design had .
Keep in mind that the RR Game Changer series are designed based on the Wolfman Guerrilla razor ( the older version ) .

Me thinks that the Game Changer solid bar
razors need smaller lather slots and larger blade clamping area,regarding their baseplates.



At left is the 2023 Wolfman Guerrilla ,while at right is the older version .
The GC solid bar razors have almost identical design with the older Guerrilla razor ( with only differences being a bar "bridge" in the middle 
which is present on the GC baseplates,while the whole head is being longer to cover completely 
the blade's side tabs ) .Notice the "fixed" issues : smaller lather slots and
larger blade clamping surfaces ( the inclined ones ).

The open comb GCs do have larger blade clamping surfaces ,
making the blade's cutting edges to be far more rigid than their 
solid bar counter parts .And this does have a profound effect on shaving.

Good info. Hope they revise the solid bar baseplate as you have described for the OC versions. I really like their Raziel performance for the money

I can definitely see the difference. If I remember correctly from my old forum, some folks liked to shim razors. I believe it was for the tighter clamping and rigidity reasons. I used to think it was for increasing blade gap, but I was wrong.

really awesome razors : made of 316L 
marine grade stainless steel ( meaning that even exposed to seawater /marine environment won't rust ) ,they are smooth 
( as long as a proper shallow angle of attack is kept ) and they can super efficient ( coupled with really sharp blades ) and all that come at a relatively low retail price ! 

Truth is that the GC open comb razors 
offer far more blade rigidity than the solid 
bar counterparts .That is the main reason 
to why the former are far smoother than the latter.



But this " issue" can easily be solved ,
with a minor tweak of the SB design.
Smaller lather slots/ports and larger
clamping surface at the SB baseplates.
I really hope that Joe will eventually 
"upgrade" the SB design ,although personally I'm sold to the OC version .

That is something I would definitely like to do since the Lupo is my main Razorock choice. Today I just used the 1.05-P because it was the first time and I wanted to experience it. I do think this is going to be a winner for those of us who the .84-P fell a little bit short for. Very efficient, nice blade feel but not overwhelming. Very smooth, comfortable, and efficient. I definitely got results that rival my Karve SB-E, which is a 1.10 gap. This was also with three days growth. I’m going to try it next with my usual two days.

It absolutely is very efficient. I did my usual 2 passes and some buffing and the results were fantastic. Some nice blade feel, but it's still smooth and not at all too much blade feel for me. It is definitely a winner for me, and the results were pretty similar, if not the same, as my Karve SB-E which is a 1.10 gap.
