Personnas both reds and U.S. ones just didn’t feel sharp to me. I had the same experience with Rapiras, Platinums and many other highly rated blades.

Permasharps is also a disappointment from the dragging I felt with them compared to other sharp blades.

I’ve never tried any poorly rated blades but most of the higher rated ones fell short for me. But I love the Astra blades. As well as the German Wilkies. And sometimes GSBs. And if I don’t mind loosing some smoothness for just a hair more sharpness the Feather and Nacet are good blades as well.

But something I never read about is variation in batches/dates. I can get a tuck made a week later from the same company and feel nowhere near as sharp. I’ve tested a lot of Astra SP and while they are all good blades some batches were absolutely amazing and much sharper. But this is something I’ve experienced with every blade I’ve tested.

Shark blades. I can use them for one shave only.

Voshkod - smooth but ineffective for me
ZaZa - terrible is all I can say
Dorco 300 - broken glass would be better
Derby - see above

I'm thinking blades that don't meet your expectations based on other peoples' opinions on the internet (Feather, GSB) or performance relative to price paid (Kai or Persona Medical Prep). Yet a blade inherently is YMMV. For me it's whatever is in my sharps container that isn't what I'm using now.

Am I the only one that despises Wilkinson Sword blades?
I find them way too rough.

And—to add insult to (literal) injury—these 5-packs go for anywhere from CAD$3-something to over CAD$5 off the shelf in local stores. What a rip-off.
The main problem is that they're the only DEs you can find in stores within driving distance from me.
*google-google-google* . . . Yup. These are made in Germany too.

Relax it a blade thread, not gonna break the blade bank, no need for blade police just yet.

Wizamet Super Iridium have been the biggest disappointment for me as those are also one of the most hyped or talked about blades. I have tried different blades from different batches. Horrible shaves each and every time. They simply don't work for me.

I agree with Marko. I've learned over the years just how subjective blade preferences are. so I try not to have high expectations going in. That being said, I wanted to like the Strangelet blades more. They aren't bad by any means, but they just can't compete with my top 3 or 4 favorites.

Rapira Platinum Lux and Voshkod, was hopeful one of them would work decently for me as a budget blade, but both gave some of the worst shaves I’ve had.
