Blackland Blackbird

I would also love to own a Blackbird in Polished Bronze or even Brass, as I would love to see them develop a Patina. A Polished Blackbird SB is on my short list.

I’m going to break things up a little bit: aluminum. An aluminum Blackbird would be incredible.

Lately, I just seem to be gravitating toward light razors. (This is coming from someone who also has a couple of real “sledgehammers” in the arsenal.)

I tend to like light razors as well.

Only problem I have with Aluminum is I dropped my alumigoose from my face to the sink and it got a really good dent and I’m only 5’10’’

I forgot to mention that I ended up picking one of these up off of nachum and finally shaved with it last night.  first, it's a beautiful razor. I bought the machined finish version of the razor - I love the raw look of razors, personally.

I paired the razor with a new astra sp blade as I wanted to stick with a more well-rounded blade.  the shave was pretty damn good, I didn't feel any harshness whatsoever.

It's great that you were able to pick up a Blackbird and you are enjoying it, Andrew! You mentioned that you used an Astra SP blade with yours, I would say that my Blackbird is probably my least blade specific razor that I own. I feel like I could load any DE blade into the Blackbird and be off to the races. I can also just drop a blade in and go, which I like a lot. The blade aligns perfectly every time. I love my machine finish Blackbird SB razor! It is definitely the razor I reach for most since I got it.(and I own a bunch of razors!)

I'm another member here at DFS who Matthew Matsilainen "talked" into buying the Blackbird. Thank you, my friend! It is one of my most expensive razor purchases ever, but I've never suffered buyers remorse for buying the Blackland Blackbird. Did I mention that I love this Razor?

Oh, and Shane Blackland Razors , my vote is for polished bronze for an alternative material. Maybe polished bronze Blackbird OC? I don't have an OC Blackbird, yet. Aluminum sounds interesting, too. Anodized aluminum or Gun Kote-type coating, maybe.

Have some faith in me. Perhaps Hobbyist, Max Sprecher and Michael P can meet with us as well, and I’ll let them be the bad influences.

We should also invite AaronW1983 and anyone else local, and start … ShaVegas? (That word combination sounded a lot better in my mind.)

Anyway, back to the Blackbird. Did anyone already suggest a titanium Blackbird? I think that could be fairly optimal, weight-wise, and would look great in either a natural titanium grey or some anodized color.

Aluminium. Different experience and also nicely fills out the good, better, best sales model.
