Yep, they are. Reasonably cheap ($12ish for 100), quite sharp, if a Feather is a 10 I'd say maybe a 7.5, but retain sharpness much longer. I get 4 exceptional shaves with one, another at least very good shave, then they fall off a little after that. No wax is just a huge bonus, I hate the dots and having to clean the gunk off of a $300-500 razor.

I just rinse the wax off with hot water from my coffee maker. I haven't used Personnas in some time. I might have to revisit them.

No redness, irritation, and probably the least aftershave burn of any razor I've used. Typically really efficient razors will leave me fairly red and with a good alcohol sting, but this does nothing of the sort. Really puzzling how it can be so efficient, but relatively gentle at the same time. It makes it hard to pick up anything else.

I’ve posted it before, but this has been my exact experience with the Ti blackbird as well. No irritation or discomfort, which is unusual for me and blade forward razors. The Blackland Vector is the only other safety razor that’s in the same league for me.

WILLIAMS WEDNESDAY SHAVE

Wednesday June 16, 2021
Razor: Blackland Blackbird Ti
Blade: Wizamet (5)
Brush: Rubberset 400/Oumo Boar
Soap: Vintage Williams
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Vintage Williams Aqua Velva
Fragrance: CK ONE
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 952

Williams Wednesday shave and that says it all. A nice fresh clean soap scent of slickness. The Blackland Blackbird Ti was on deck for shave 2 and I will miss everyone here on the forums but I will need to disappear with this incredible razor now.........OBVIOUSLY I kid Pete Patriot who generously loaned it to me and said he was concerned I would do that to him. It's that good a razor but a move like that is not in me and never would be. On to the razor thoughts. I had tried the Dart and found it WAY to aggressive to feel comfortable for me. I had read the mixed reviews of some saying the Blackbird was smoother than the Dart and finally had a chance to try a SS Blackbird. I admit it felt smoother to me but was still a razor that I had to be more focused on than I wanted to when shaving. I got an error/drama free shave in but it wouldn't be a daily driver for me. Then comes along the Ti Blackbird and all the comments of how it is SOOO much different and smoother and shaves you by itself while you sip coffee..................well not the last points but you get the idea. I was skeptical of how a different metal of the same design and specs could be THAT different. Add to this that I'm not a big fan of light razors. Aluminum razors I've tried have never been great for me. 1st few strokes the other day and I knew my wallet was in jeopardy. I usually know in a single shave if a razor is for me and I knew in a few strokes but wanted to temper the enthusiasm and be certain. My first thoughts were I ain't spending $300 on a razor. By the end of that 1st shave I told myself, enjoy a few shaves with it and clean, sanitize and caress it before sending it home to Pete. After today's shave with again STELLAR results..........................did I mention that all the comments about the face feel being so much better of this metal are spot on............I decided that I will be getting one at some point as they get more plentiful and I see one for a better deal in the BST or I sell some things and cave to buy a new one. After today's shave I see this could be a daily driver for me which would be a requirement before my spending that much on a single razor. The results are THAT good (FOR ME). I do appreciate Pete for generously allowing me to take this for a spin as I would never have bought it or been able to make an informed decision on whether it would be worth it to me without this opportunity. 1 more shave tomorrow and I will clean it, run it thru the ultrasonic cleaning machine and sanitize before packaging it up to send home to you. Thanks again Buddy ! Everyone have a fun and enjoyable day !!!

Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 953

3rd and unfortunately my final shave with the Blackland Razors Blackbird Ti. I have had the chance to try and buy for $300 a Wolfman and passed on it after shaving with it. I can't see having a razor that costs that much...................but I would be a buyer of one of these if available at the moment. It's that good for me and surprises me to say that. The problem is there are other razors that I have that can do the job at a fraction of the cost and .......................SQUIRREL !! .....................my attention span will no doubt have me questioning this memory of the great shaves and whether it's really worth the price again by the time they are available again. Shane said it would be awhile before another drop after his last drop on June 6th and his awhile is........... A WHILE sometimes. Again my great thanks to Pete Patriot for allowing me to try this great razor. It's packaged up but I do say after 3 shaves it looks a LOT like a worn out Ball End Old Type by Gillette. Odd, I hope it shaves the same as you remember even if it doesn't look the same........Just ignore the slight difference in appearance and shave quality Buddy ! Big Grin Everyone one have a Stupid Fun Day today !!!
