With all the talk, I had to run my titanium Blackbird this morning.  Awesome shave and I concur that the efficiency matches my 1.45 and bests my 1.35.  This thing has never ceased to amaze me!  Link to my IG review and post below.  I have been using my stainless 101mm handle with it since I got it.  Hate the little titanium handle that it shipped with.

I had thought of using a long BB SS handle with my Ti BB but figured it would be too handle heavy for my personal preference. 

Nevertheless, reading the above I gave it a shot and confirmed that I didn't like the way it handled with the heavier handle.

I did my first pass with the long SS handle, then switched back to the Ti and decided I'm happy with it as is.

I have a long Jurgen Hempel Ti that I've used with it but for some reason I feel better with the original.

I wonder if the shorter handle gives the 'right' amount of nominal pressure than a longer handle ?

Just as with a lever/fulcrum, the longer the lever the more the mechanical advantage. Great for lifting, not so great for shaving.

I have to agree. I tried using my Ti HR2 and a 90 mm Tibam handle and honestly I’m also happy with the original. Maybe if the original handle came in a longer length but there’s something about not using the original handles with most of the razors I have that just doesn’t feel right! It’s probably just me.

Ok without a long Shave Off review, this morning I used the WR2 Ti DC on its 1.45 SB side only and put it up against the BB Ti and I agree with george1906 report that it matches the 1.45 in efficiency/effectiveness but with less blade feel so therefore it has smoother face feel. At least on this face. I gotta go all the way with this side by side for my own curiosity and match it to the 1.55 SB WR2 Ti next. No matter what the outcome I have to say I’m very impressed with the BB Ti and based on other brush finished vs high polished razors I’ve shaved with I’m thinking the High polished version will be even smoother and maybe even better glide but I’d be happy with the brushed finish if the High polished doesn’t happen but according to Shane it will and if I could pre order it I’d do it in a NY heartbeat.

I used both razors (BB Ti & WR2 1.45 Ti) side by side. 2+ passes. Wizamet blades.
Both are very efficient and comfortable. I got easy BBS even under jaw line.
WR2 cuts beard faster than BB. And I got slightly longer lasting BBS. I can say WR2 1.45 Ti a bit more efficient.
Both razors are very smooth. BB has less blade feel, but the difference is quite small.
I really like both of them, and it is very difficult to say which one I like more. They are the best.
I think I need to keep only these two razors and sell everything else.

For me the Blackbird Ti is an excellent razor but I prefer my WR2 Ti 1.35 and WR2 SS1.55

For me the quality of Wolfman razors are incredible, as far as shave I find WR2 smoother and efficiency of the 1.55 is better. Also I find slight drag with the Blackbird and the Wolfman glides better for me.

Had another shave today on 3 days growth. The best shave I've had yet with this razor, they just keep getting better. When I first finished my face felt glassy smooth, but after some Ethos aftershave splash and a little rejuvenating oil it's like velvet. Absolutely zero alcohol burn, no nicks or weepers, really incredible. I don't know how the razor can be so smooth with this level of efficiency, but it is. The angles of the head work perfectly with my technique and while it isn't thoughtless shaving, it is very relaxing and doesn't require stressful levels of concentration. The BB blows through my trouble areas so easily that I just don't require much in the way of touchups or buffing, I think that's part of what makes it so smooth for me.
