Sounds like OC1 is closer to a 125....94 is likely a solid comparison too. After two passes they seemed to produce relatively the same result...my guess is the 145 did indeed cut closer because of the softer feeling results.

Even on the low side of 125, the OC1 sounds like a solid build. Eagerly awaiting launch.

george1906 I occasionally put a little Maas on my SS razors to clean them up but no heavy polishing.

No problem LOOT. Well, face feel, I mentioned that I had more blade feel with the 1.25 WR2. That is not to say there wasn't blade feel with the Tradere, I just didn't notice it as much. Same with the audible feedback. Face feel was fine with both. No irritation, and the weight of the razors overall lends itself to more efficiency with no effort. The way a DE shave is supposed to be done.

One reason I don't like to review/compare razors is that there are so many variables. For instance, I had one day's growth to shave. I used the Silver Blues, out of a 100 pack I bought years ago, that have been consistently smooth/sharp and always irritation free. Had I used a new Feather in both I don't know if it would have been the same. 

If I was cutting through 3 days of growth it may have been different. Then there is my technique. For years I was predominantly a straight razor shaver. So my technique at that time probably was not as good with a safety razor as it is now. I rarely shave with a straight in the past couple of years. That may be why I felt the Tradere gen 1 was like a Muhle R-41 when I first got it. Traded a guy a straight razor for it .... 

Then there is my face/whiskers as opposed to everyone else's. I don't know if I have a tough beard, I've never shaved anyone else ... so everything is compared to me, and me alone. Someone in this thread said they found the Tradere gen 2 "quite mild" ... not me ... I find it as efficient as the gen 1, but smoother, a pleasure to shave with. Maybe because of the safety bar versus the OC ? Dunno, and if I shaved with it tomorrow I might change my opinion ! Helluva thing this comparison stuff.

Excellent response. All of those variables you listed are why I supported, and mailed several thousand of dollars in razors off to Frankie for his shave offs. I figured one guy using the gear is as close to isolating the razor as a tool as I'd ever get and there was no way I was investing the time and resources to do it. Even then, I believe there is inherent bias built in, no matter who the single shaver is. It's human nature.

When one individual subjects himself to multiple shaves with different tools there may be an inherent systematic bias which once determined and quantified it can be adequately compensated for with a systematic correction. This can be much better handles than random errors and as such, a single individual comparison activity can be very useful.

Just my two cents.

Blackland Razors will you be making a stand for the Tradere?

I shaved one side of my face/neck with the Tradere, and the other side with the WR2. The WR2 provided me with more audible feedback, and blade feel than the Tradere. Both were equally smooth and efficient, which is to say extremely smooth and efficient. 

Thanks for this JimmyH....if the Tradere OC is as smooth as a high gap WR2 OC then smoothness is clearly not an issue.

When you wrote about your first shave with the 1.25 OC I remember you mentioned feeling some nervousness.
It's possible that when one approaches an aggressive razor with nervousness the shaves can be a bit off due to
tentative angles, hesitating strokes and whatnot. Perhaps that's what threw a lot of guys off aggressive razors before. Now after
reading reviews of aggressive razors , guys probably ditch the fear and get on with it calmly, resulting in better shaves.

I very much like, and agree with machine engraving the name and serial number on the base plate.

That's a much classier way to go.

I might also offer ideas for a fitting stand too...

That was Mark Shavemd with the 145. I'll let him answer your specific question.

I don't have a Tradere but I do have the 145 and can run it daily with 1.5 passes.

My guess is the Tradere is close to a WR2 125, which I do have. I also have a .94WR1 that I ran with the 145. In one pass, on my face, the 145 removed a good deal more hair.

Based on that, the 145 is a better one pass shave. However, if one pass is the goal, I'd order the 145 or 155. Hope this helps.
