I have recently purchased a Machined BB razor. I went for the machined version as polished would take more time and I really like the look of machined one.

I have decided that I won't use the 30 day return policy as I love this razor. But one thing keeps bugging me is that sharpness of the top plate itself - one might think it is possible to shave with that plate alone, without a blade. And also the pointed corners.

Now my question is: is there any difference apart from the look between machined and polished? Is the 'problem' mentioned above present in the polished one too? I can still send the machined one back and get the polished version with few extra dollars.

Thanks

You might do better by sending this question to Shane at Blackland. He is very responsive and can tell you if there is any difference.

From what I understand, all Blackland Blackbird razors being manufactured now are a “version 2” of sorts, meaning that they all have the same, slightly duller corners than the original version. So, in essence, the polished should be exactly the same as the machined.

But as also stated, I would ask Shane. Just to be sure that the polishing process doesn’t round out the corners even a bit more.
