Have any of you ever seen (maybe on social media ads) these topical products that made for deep moisturizing benefit made with beef fat tallow or bison tallow? Some other common ingredients I have seen mixed with tallow are honey or royal jelly, olive oil, and maybe some others. Anyways, for as much as tallow versus veggie soaps were such a vibrant and passionate discussion, I stubbled across these ads over the holidays and asked myself, why hadn't I seen much on if we should use the beef fat not just for the soap but maybe for the after shave routine.
Since I have dry skin, especially during these cooler and drier months, my skin is bit more in need of something. I notice how quickly my lip may crack if I am not constantly putting something on it. I figured I would give a couple of these products a buy and just got them. The plan is to use them after my next shave in place of my kokum/mango butter and maybe ever try skipping aftershave altogether at least once. They advertise these product mixtures as pretty concentrated so they say to use a small amount and spread evenly. There wasn't a note on if they suggest dry or wet skin but maybe I will try both ways. The brand I got was from Van Man and its called Tallow and Honey Balm classic. I'll report back soon with my thoughts after my next couple of shaves. Stay well and happy new year everyone.
