The BBS-1 is a beautiful razor. Thank goodness it’s not the only razor on the market. (Looking at those prices, you’d think that it is.)

If someone asks that much and someone else is willing to pay it, that’s their business. I’m glad it doesn’t have to affect me in any way.

I shaved with my BSS-1 today. I didn't think one bit about high rare it is. I just use it often and it works well for me. Today I even tried a different blade in it and it worked pretty well. Hopefully the feeding frenzy for flipping will subside with a replacement design.

It's not only the BBS-1, which seems to be the most desirable razor James ever created. All Wolfman listings are going for $1000 at least on Ebay lately. Raising the prices didn't work...

My wallet aches from seeing those prices. I didn't think it was that great a razor.
I'm not sorry I sold my BBS-1 for what I paid for it, I made a good friend in the exchange. Smile

I hope you’re right. I’ve always wanted to try one and I have laid out some money for hard to get items before but we all have our “that’s too much” price point and the bbs-1 has well surpassed that for me. I will just have to wait for it’s replacement and enjoy my 17-4 till then.

A Wolfman Titanium is currently auctioned on ebay for 1750 USD. One day is left, so the rate can go even higher than this.....

I think wolfmans lack of availability has been a good thing in that we now have Timeless and charcoal goods out there producing razors of equal quality at a premium price but with less wait times. The lack of wolfman stock and the “rare” factor is what is driving these obnoxious prices. I can tell you that the two aforementioned makers make razors that shave just as well if not better than the wolfman razor I have and they look as good in my view. I’d like a copper wolfman but no way I would ever spend this kind of money on a razor. You could buy about every “premium” razor on the market for what these are auctioning for.

I will say this. As someone who obviously will post positively about how much I like it and will use it. But this is where it is a risk to buy a razor. You should become acquainted with a razor long enough to see if it is compatible with your skin and beard. I have read lots of reviews that read the users having inefficiency in cutting yielding rough shaves. It also requires an angle that doesn't in my opinion have a large window. There is window room for the angle so it is not hard to find but it is a bit off the cap as a good amount of razors have nowadays. The baseplate I think will be best used in contact with the skin to combine closeness of shave while remaining gentle to the skin at surface. I still think this razor sucks for whatever reason with chewing up blades. So many blades give me razor burn so I stick to a small amount and hardly deviate away from a fresh Voskhod every shave.

Another thought is I question my own validity when I didn't really get my BBS-1 at any hard price. Essentially the trade value was about $120 at the time and I sent off a CeraCote Mongoose B2. Anyways, what can I say about current going prices of these puppies? I don't thing I can say anything about the price that they are selling but maybe who is buying them I do bet, hear me out, there are genuine people who read threads on our various forums, and we hype them up. So when they just so happen to be the type of person who says what the hell and at the beginning of their wet shaving journey down the rabbit whole of endless receipts, the gentlemen has the financial ability to that very Wolfman for under $2000 USD now today. I have no idea who the person can be but give me a break, I don't think every person who buys something at an inflated price is a bad person or in it for the wrongs reasons.

Someone could be curious enough to want to try a razor for the purchase price $2000. But what I think (don't know) is that sometimes people buying could be doing so at a time when it is already higher than it was before. Then to buy with the opportunity presented, they then decide to buy at the highest price then to then later flip at the higher price. This is not to automatically call someone a flipper if they sell their razor at a higher price then them. It then is not a user buying the product but a person who now can choose to use that as a tool to multiply an investment through a razor.

Again, to buy a razor at $2000 is risky. If you are young and have the disposable income to blow on "trying" as in legitimate testing and shaving with the damn razor, you MAY get your moneys worth. If it works for you then use it and get the money out of the use of it daily. Then you can sell anything else you would use to shave your face with. You don't make it more valuable to your own purchase price return if you don't use it. Again, it's a tool for your to use in your daily routine. So are we even discussing the types of people buying these at $2000? Who cares if it is a lot for a razor. What if the person purchases it actually wants to try it?

Is there a problem with people in the market paying more than the market value? I don't think so. I strongly do not believe there is an issue with the supply being lower than it operates in relation to the demand (just say for now) the BBS-1 contract made by LASSC through Wolfman. The issue I think comes from the demand for a "reason" to explain the scarcity. James I assumes wants to make a good product. Excuse me as I may be sarcastic by bringing this up but I think some people want to make it out to mind-play the people in the razor market. If I were to call him crazy, it would respectfully be to acknowledge his ability for tools and material. That is what stands out to me. He doesn't strike me (nor do I read into him) as a ego maniac machinist. So even though the razors that he loves to keep at HIS standard are continuously trickled out onto his website, they remain at a price many are ready to pay but the ability for the supply to meet them is what is short. Too bad. Right now the number of razors of the level are not high in relation to you and everyone else.

If you have never tried a Wolfman and want to try one, I would advise you to not waste too much additional money above market value. It would be equal to spending it on lotto tickets or gambling. Just think, you probably know the chance to buy a Wolfman is hard enough. The fact is if I was standing right next to you to you and selling you a Wolfman or a BBS-1, I think you could divide that extra money I will make off you by three. You should know within the first 3 shaves if you paid enough, over paid, or you want to keep it to use. If it takes you longer, I say give it 10 shaves. If you hate the razor after 10 shaves then I would assume most people would know I can't continue using this razor.

If I paid high above market value and by not being able to enjoy it by keeping it and using it, you paid the fee to at least try it plus cost of opportunity of purchase. If your face lost on those first three shaves with a Wolfman, would you hate me if I sold you a brand new complete set Wolfman for a dollar more than my purchase price? I made a buck off you and for $0.33 cents, you can shave with a Wolfman razor (plus the market price). If I sold that same razor and marked it up 2.5 times higher to the price of $1062.5. That means for the profit I made off of you, your first shave cost you $637.5. If you are unsure of that purchase holding value, do you think you would use it for 17 years straight to use it as a tool? $637.5 is a lot of money (if you follow my line of thinking) to spend as an opportunity fee (meaning its rare and hyped) as high demand low supply item.

If you want it, you will likely pay market value price or above market value price. But value also lies in how you get your money back after purchasing by actually using it and throwing the question out of the window about reselling. Hopefully I was semi clear on the point so much discussion happens on the end of the conversation of people haven't tried Wolfman or BBS-1. I hope you are patient if you want to try one because you may like one if you shave with one. But without intention of joking or mocking, don't assume mystique or mythical levels to a product that may be designed for a human. It just may be a human who is more mystical and mythical than you are. So don't over pay too much compared to the next guy wanting to try one as well. It may keep the purchase price lower for both of you.

I don't care, nor do I have the right to care (unless it harms someone),what others spend their money on.Even if I had the disposable funds to be able to pay those prices,I wouldn't.
As mentioned in previous posts, there are other razors of equal quality and ability available for way less.Paying those sort of prices for being able to say " I have one" is just a bit, meh.
