There appears to be some confusion regarding the terms and cooking methods. Grilling uses direct heat. Let me be more specific, if the heat is directly below or above the item being cooked it's called grilling or broiling. BBQ uses indirect heat, it's more like baking. The heat is elsewhere and the item being cooked is remote or shielded from the heat source. Smoke can also be added and lots of times is. Lots of times it's low and slow, taking hours, to make lesser cuts indescribably delectable. If direct heat is used it's definitely NOT BBQ. Those of us who have mastered the art of BBQ take umbrage at others stealing the term and taking credit for something they DO NOT have any clue about. So please stop it. Please use the terms correctly.
Let me put it in other words... I boiled some eggs this morning and they came out fantastic over easy. I loved the bacon grease flavor that they were fried in. One can't mix cooking methods and have it make sense.
I've hinted in the past, but that doesn't seem to work. Show up at a BBQ competition and grill something, turn it in as BBQ, and be burned at the stake, or close to it.
