I’m wearing it now. It’s updated I’d say, a little sweeter smelling than the classic. I like it a lot.
Thanks Marko. I’ve been wondering about that since I’m looking more for a traditional scent.

I’m thinking more like captains choice, or similar to grand bay.

Stirling and PAA also make traditional bay rums. PAA also has several non traditional bay rums in their lineup. Also, if you want to try one of the best I recommend Ethos bay rum including Tortola which although a bit non-traditional, is awesome.(03-19-2023, 01:27 AM)Marko Wrote:(03-19-2023, 01:22 AM)Southernshaver Wrote: Thanks Marko. Here’s the thing about almost all bay rum aftershaves, as great as they may smell, they’re mostly just water, alcohol and fragrance. This Citrocol is no exception. Don’t get me wrong, I love almost all of them but there is very little in the way of skin “nourishing “ ingredients in them. The Ogallala toners have some and the PAA bay rum and variants have a little too as well as the Tallow + Steel but the absolute gold standard for post shave skin nourishment has got to be the Ethos trifecta of
Skin Food Lotion / Splash / Serum and to have those in an original (two!) bay rum(s) is, in my opinion a really special thing. Maybe Frank Dragonsbeard will eventually fill out the Tortolla skin food splash with a lotion and serum. I know I’d buy them.
Hats off to the innovators and visionaries in wet shaving who are working to improve and enhance our shaving experience and even elevating the bay rum experience!!

Thank you for the compliment.. as you know I wasn’t the most confident guy going into making a Bay Rum for the first time but I will say I learned a lot reading up on the history of Bay Rum and also from things I read on here and the internet.
On the Tortola after giving it some thought I’ve decided that I’m going to make the Shave Soap, Serum and Lotion and someone asked me if I could make them a Body Spray. I’ve also had requests for Bath Bar Soap ( I’ll be adding a ( Bay Rum to the Bath Bar line up soon ) and a Roll - Up Shave stick for Travel. So I have been surprised how popular Bay Rum has gotten and not just with the men as ladies seem to like it as well.
Maybe we owe all this Bay Rum popularity to Dr Squarch. Lol
No seriously I’ll be making brand new Shampoo & Conditioner Bars in a few scents and Bay Rum will certainly be one of them. There’s some brand new technology in that area and. I can’t wait to make them. Just need to get caught up from being out of work.
So Bay Rum, Bay Rum, Bay Rum!
Great shaves all.
