TSEvangelist I saw some photos of a titanium Wolfman and instantly fell in love. I know it's pricey but it fits my habit of purchasing one or two really good pieces of hardware and sticking with them. It will be a nice complement to the ATT slants that I enjoy using now, and the durability of titanium should ensure it lasts much longer than I do.

Everyone has a different approach! It just so happens that I prefer to have a bit more variety in soaps/creams, but when it comes to hardware, I like having a couple of quality staples. If I had variety in both I'd end up taking forever to decide on what to use in the morning lol.

BTW have to give TSE credit for using something else than his synthetics.......

Haha, thanks.  One thing I can tell you, synthetics will spoil you in terms of ease of lathering.  I'm having to load much heavier and work a bit harder to get a decent lather with my boars.   I'm not exactly sure why that is but it's definitely requires a bit more loading and work with natural.  I wish I knew the science behind it but I do not

I like that you have started to actually post on the forums, and not just leave your links to videos here.

I have used synthetics since 2011, where I purchased a rather cheapish Men Ü synthetic brush, that performed rather mediocre.

Then I followed the new releases of synthetics that began to emerge, especially from 2013 and on, and do think I must have owned in between 20 and 25 synthetic brushes, pretty much of all the known hair fibres, only one I miss is the Chubby 2 Synthetics, which I know you at one stage enjoyed several of, but then sold them in favour of your beloved Plisson synthetics.

At the end of the day, this hobby of ours is all about having a good time with ourselves, enjoying our shaves as much as possible.

Whether you use a synthetic, a boar, horse or a badger brush. It's all about having as good a shave as possible with what ever works best for you.

The thing you mention about lather creation with a synthetic, I agree, synthetics just lather very fast and very well.
But I have 250+ creams and soaps in my den, that I need to use before they eventually turn bad anyways, so I don't consider overloading a problem, rather a luxury my huge collection allows me to do

I know where you are coming from - I often speculate in downsizing my collection of soap and creams, brushes and razors, so I only have a handfull of each.

But then I forget how many wonderful products I already own, that I would have hard time parting with.

True CHSeifert, it's very tough to downsize. When it comes to creams/soaps, that's actually one reason why I decided to take a slow acquisitions approach involving a lot of comparative sampling. By doing this, I managed to find and narrow down what I consider to be the best products on the market (for me, specifically). It suits my approach best, since I like variety, but not too much variety.

I like even less variety with my hardware. Having one or two razors and one or two brushes (of each type) makes me happy.

I said the same thing back in 2011, when I satrted on the shaving forums.
I could simply not cope with and manage the vast supply of hardware and software, what to buy and what not to consider worthy of owning.

This is why I settled for 12 shaving creams, a razor and a brush at first. I continued with this in my collection for 3-4 months, then gave in and said to myself: 'Claus, you can a couple of more razors and a couple of more brushes, but try still to limit yourself to max 5 of each'

But slowly the AD rage started to creep under my skin, and I slowly gave in and started buying left and right......

I have now sold off most of my badgers, had 100-120 HIGHEND badgers at one stage in 2014, and owned somewhere between 60-70 DE razors (all brand new), but have since then managed to keep the numbers down to around 25-30 brushes and 25-30 razors total.

Soaps and creams I'm all over the place - actually afraid my creams will turn bad from age and my soaps will lose their scent.
Some of my creams from 2011 are now very hard and dried out, but they still work great.
