Anyone who uses a bath soap or shampoo bar ends up with a sliver that is too small to hold in the hand for use and gets thrown out.  Does anyone know how slivers could be combined so that they could be used up more completely instead of being wasted?

I have always combined the sliver and new bar with the suds created from the soap. After the suds dry out, the sliver sticks to the new bar. But I have always wondered if I saved enough slivers maybe I could melt them in the microwave or on the stovetop and then pour it into a mold to cool.

I usually put them in the soap dish next to the sink and use them for hand washing until they’re almost gone.

I purchased a soap net I use with bar soaps that does a great job using them until the very end. I like the scrubby exfoliating feel on my skin as well. If you don't like that feeling, this may not be for you then. This is the one I have...

I stick it to the new bar going into service.
