The PdP performance is top-notch.  Admittedly, the price is up there but it is a triple-milled soap that lasts time (for me, it's usually around 2 months of daily use).  But you can find them on sale quite often and when I do, I tried to snag at least a couple.  Opened up this bar yesterday.  The scent is nice...very middle-of-the-road for me.  Although I haven't tried all the scents, I still put the Lavender at the top

I don’t like using the larger bar…..drop that on your toes while showering & OUCH!

I have a couple more bars of Neutrogena French milled soap that I liberated from a hotel room where we stayed recently. I like it.

I have seen prices change daily and by the hour, once you keep selecting a specific product.  Those pricing algorithms are messy and tailored to each shopper.

You will see a cheaper price when the item comes up.  Those prices are for a "subscription" which ties you into a continuous shipment each month.
If you want a "one time purchase"...you must click on that circle, OR you will get the cheaper price and the orders will automatically keep coming.
This is one of the "gotchas" that are endemic to Amazon...and you have to be careful when ordering anything on Amazon.

Follow-up:

This NOS Williams Lanolin Soap has proven to be an outstanding preshave facial bar. While not exfoliating and refreshing as Kiehl's Facial Fuel, it is nonetheless an outstanding part of every shave since sent by Dave in KY.  

From all indications, repeated usage has barely made a dent so it may serve well in that capacity for years to come. The bar is so good, may that projection of longevity come to pass from my hand to God's eyes, eh?
