Sadly, Anise & Vetiver (which I LOVED) didn't sell well. But we're considering bringing Petrichor back sometime next year.

I love the Anise & Vetiver soap, I just used it a couple of days ago.  Petrichor is great as well.  I'm trying to use these discontinued gems judiciously so they last as long as possible.  Re-releases would be appreciated.

Will, do you think that if you give your soaps spooky names they sell better?  Hallows, Leviathan vs Anise & Vetiver, Petrichor and you can never go wrong with skulls.Smile

Cedar is in the juniper family (as is cade oil) and I had no idea that a juniper allergy was so common when I started the business (and, really, it's hard to work with perfume without SOME kind of cedar derivative). We're EXTREMELY careful to avoid cross-contamination, but I put up a warning to make sure that no one buys it accidentally.

That's interesting. It's a good thing I don't have that problem - juniper is one of my favorite scents.  Thanks.

Le Grand Chypre smells amazing. One of the top B&M scents to date for sure.

I'm just thrilled that my B&M order that should have made it to me yesterday is at least out for delivery today. This means I can take both Le Grand Chypre and Latha Taiga with me for my Thanksgiving trip. Already looking forward to lunchtime so I can get both of them quite a few good whiffs!

I'm happy for all the people that have received their B&M Le Grand Chypre already. Up here in Canada things move at a more leisurely pace. I placed my order almost at the moment they were released last friday and I'll be happy to see it before the end of next week giving me pretty much a two week transit time. I wonder what they do with the packages that takes so long. I suspect that they could easily deliver everything pretty quickly if they wanted but if they were to do that nobody would pay extra for expedited shipping. They put the ordinary mail aside to let it age - we will deliver no package before its time! This also happens for packages within Canada so I suspect its a Canadian postal thing. To put things in perspective, I recently ordered some espresso coffee from Mauro online. I placed the order at about 11:00am MST on a Sunday. I had the package delivered by mid-day Wednesday. I assumed that Mauro must have a warehouse if not in Canada, at least in North America. No they don't. I looked at the tracking information (DHL) and the order was received at the Mauro facility in Bologna, Italy at 7:00pm local time, the order left that facility before midnight local time the same day, and arrived in Leipzig, Germany by 3:00am, then to Heathrow in London by noon the next day, it was in Canada by Tuesday and delivered to me wednesday. I've had packages sent from within the same city take longer than that, l a lot longer. I guess Mauro figures If they want to serve the world from Bologna, they better be able to deliver.

This isn't a critique of the artisans or vendors but rather Canada Post

The upside of the timing thing is that by the time the thing arrives I've forgotten about it completely so its a pleasant surprise.

I bet it is! Some awesome soaps right there. Oceana is my favorite Latha scent.
I'm wondering how close Taiga is to First Snow. I love the pine scent of it.

Just had my first Le Grande Chypre shave... outstanding scent and performance. Great work Will, thanks.

I am really mad at Barrister & Mann right now. This new soap base, code named "Glissant", is unreal. It is so unreal that I'm not sure I can keep leading the LathaMan Army. I really want to use the new Taiga scented Latha, but I'm going to have to use Le Grand Chypre again tomorrow.

Amazing combination of extreme slickness while maintaining great cushion. This soap base will be adored by the aggressive razor lovers as well as the straight users. The scent is too complex for me to describe with any authority and accuracy. However, to me it starts out with a sharp citrus blast that then blends with some darker elements like frankincense and patchouli, while then almost immediately rounding the corner into a slight floral. Such amazing balance between so many different types of scents. It all blends in my nose to form something awe inspiring.

I will definitely enjoy this soap while AWOL from the LathaMan Army. Taiga will keep calling my name and I know I will succumb (happily) pretty soon. But for now I will bask in this truly grand creation.

Lies!

Great perspective. Mine [Chypre] just arrived today- have not even cracked it open yet but am very much looking forward to having a go.
