That's it?? Seems like you should get easily 3 times more shaves out of a normal 4 or 5 oz. tub of soap. I can get 20+ shaves out of a 1 oz. Stirling sample.

Jeff that seems to be my experience when I did some tracking on Stirling samples.  I got as low as 15 (lathering on the puck) and highs around 25.

I have one B&M reserve soap and with my rotation I have only used it a couple of times so no way close to knowing what I will get out of it. If its in the 32-35 shave vicinity I doubt I would buy it again.

That seems oddly low. How heavily are you loading your brushes and are they animal hair or synthetic?

I was using mostly Simpson Manchurian before. I used up two tubs of Arctique two summers ago. I’m now using synthetic brushes and have gotten around 35 shaves per tub. So far I’ve used up about 7-8 tubs of BM soaps and have consistent number of usage per tub.  I tend to load on the heavier side as I like to enjoy the lather so this could be it but I am trying to figure out how to extend the number of shaves.

I mean, if you like loading heavy, then have at it, but you could likely get excellent results with less soap as well. Smile

Right before I started using Reserve I was aware that you need a very, very light load on the brush and you'll get tons of lather that's relatively easy to work up. So I honestly can't imagine any of my tubs of it coming anywhere near to being finished for years.
