Late to these superb soaps out of Nebraska and a big thanks to all who kept posting including bijou, SHAVEWIZARD420, Matsilainen and ANG69 for keeping the fire alive on Ballenclaugh!
Glad to hear this!

By the way, have you noticed a difference in performance between Festive Parlor (which is from last year) and the two newer ones? The product pages all seem to state the same formula, yet the newer jars appear to have coconut oil as an ingredient, and that wasn’t in the recipe last year. I’m just wondering if there’s any noticeable difference.

EDIT: I knew there was more information about this subject elsewhere. Here is Chris on the coconut oil matter:

The only difference I detect are Crypt and Portals might be a bit creamier but they are fresher jars. The lather easily matches anything else made today. The Portals is a favorite, a wonderful bright cedar.

Matsilainen#31 good question about the new formula, I pick up Portals a few weeks ago I didn't look to see if there was a change in the ingredients (I never look, the only time I become of aware of a change is when a- its promoted by the company or reseller, b- when someone writes a review or, c- when someone like you mentions it in a post). I didn't notice a difference maybe if I did an A-B test I might. I found the soap to be like all Ballenclaugh soaps excellent.

I went to purchase the new soap Crypt the other day and it was sold out, that was fast, that has never happened before with a new soap so quickly. It has taken a while but I guess the word is out on Ballenclaugh.

Glad to hear that the new ones continue where the old ones left off. And yes, Crypt did sell out very fast. It seems the new sales model is helping Chris’ soaps get out to customers quickly. (And there are probably some new customers, too.)

Well said! Ballenclaugh stopped producing soaps for a period of time, so its wonderful to see them doing good. Plus since WCS started carrying their soaps it helps toget their name out there to people that otherwise wouldnt have tried this great soap.
