Google "above the tie slant cap change" and the top result from B&B has a discussion of the change that Stan made to the cap. I can't access the B&B site here from work (it's blocked for some reason), but my recollection is that Stan made the change as he was getting questions about the "uneven" blade exposure (blade-to-cap) even though the blade exposure (blade-to-baseplate) is even.
