New Double-Edged Razor N°7 by Atelier Durdan
Dear friends and traditional shaving enthusiasts,
It is with great joy and emotion that we share with you our latest creation: the double-edged razor N°7. This razor is much more than just a shaving tool for us. It embodies our passion and expertise accumulated since the creation of Atelier Durdan. The N°7 is the seventh razor we are bringing to market, following our previous models Le Maurice (three versions), La Faulx, Vestige, and Dwarf razor. This number holds particular significance for me, as I am also the seventh child in my family of ten. I have put all my heart and expertise into this project, and I am very proud to present it to you today.
Technical Innovations
This razor incorporates several innovations from our previous models:
• Technology inspired by La Faulx: for a deep cut without nicks.
• Handle design inspired by Vestige: a conical handle base for easy mounting in the stand, providing an ergonomic and comfortable grip.
• Blade clamping inspired by Le Maurice: ensures a powerful blade grip, eliminating vibrations for a more precise and comfortable shave.
Technical Specifications and Aggressiveness Scale
The GAP and blade exposures of the N°7 are designed to satisfy all shaving profiles:

GAP 0.3 mm: blade exposure

Very mild: Ideal for daily shaving. Perfect for sensitive skin and to avoid irritation.

Mild: Also suitable for daily use, offering a bit more blade feel while remaining very comfortable.

Balanced: An excellent compromise between mildness and efficiency. Suitable for those seeking an effective shave with moderate blade feel.

GAP 0.9 mm: blade exposure
+0.07 mm
Effective: For those who prefer a deeper shave with a more pronounced blade feel. Ideal for frequent use with a bit more robustness.

GAP 1.1 mm: blade exposure
+0.13 mm
Very effective: Provides a deep and smooth shave. Perfect for those seeking increased efficiency without compromising on comfort.

GAP 1.3 mm: blade exposure
+0.18 mm
Aggressive: For experienced users who want a very close and clean shave. Ideal for less frequent but very precise shaves.

GAP 1.5 mm: blade exposure
+0.23 mm
Very aggressive: Designed for exceptional mornings when a very close shave is needed. Provides maximum blade feel for an ultra-smooth result.
This wide range of GAPs allows for a personalized experience, ranging from extreme mildness to remarkable efficiency. As with the Le Maurice model, only the base plate needs to be changed to adjust the GAP, making it easy to customize your razor to your needs.
The stainless steel handle has a grip diameter of Ø12mm, a length of 90mm, and a weight of 76g. The razor head weighs 25g, for a total weight of 101g, ensuring a comfortable and balanced grip.
Finishes and Materials
The N°7 razor will be available in the following materials: stainless steel, brass, titanium, bronze, and copper. You can choose from the following finishes: machined, sandblasted, basic polished, premium polished, and medieval.
Release Date and Pass around
The release of the N°7 razor is scheduled for June 3rd. In preparation for this launch, we will organize a pass around on the DFS, ATG, and Rasage Classique forums. We encourage you to participate and share your impressions with us and the community.
