This was just one of the best SE shaves I've ever had. The ++ plate was really a dream - right off the bat it just went super well. So far Vector/Schick was the ultimate but this was even more awesome. A really great feeling. Next up is the ProSuper but this combo was just wow.
Really very hard to describe how to top a Vector - but it was just right. The play of Bladefeel, efficiency, thoroughness - it was pure enjoyment.

giova1949  Is there any particular aspect of the La Faulx you are interested in hearing more about? I've stopped writing detailed descriptions about this razor because I assumed people have grown weary of me singing its praises, and I have covered quite a bit of it in detailed reviews. Happy to share more if you had some suggestions for what to focus on. But the very short version is that I highly recommend this razor, and it has displaced all other AC makes and models used in the past. The only other AC razor I am currently considering is the Wolfman WR4

So Cal
giova1949, I also have the La Faulx and am happy to answer any questions, too. I have the stainless steel, polished, with Classic (most mild) blade gap.

This is my top razor, out of 5 other DE and 1 other AC razors. I use it with a Schick Proline blade, and shave 5-6 days a week. I have average whiskers, both in toughness and density.

The stainless La Faulx is wonderfully smooth, beautiful to look at and touch, and perfectly balanced. While it doesn't have a lot of blade feel, it gives plenty of audible feedback so I know that I'm cutting at the angle I'm using. It's like driving a sports sedan like a BMW 7 Series or a Mercedes S. It's very comfortable and solid.

The one area where it requires extra attention is to get right under my nose. On a north-to-south pass, I can't get to the top of my upper lip. So I just turn it around and do south-to-north. I rarely go this direction on my upper lip with my other razors, but the La Faulx will do that without worry.

There are times where I've had three days' growth and thought I would need a different razor because my Classic plate is the mildest, but it's mowed down three days as easily on one pass as it does with one day (note: I always do two full passes, with a third pass under my nose and on my cheeks).

Let us know if you want more info!

Thank you for your time. I was hoping you could also try other distances, in addition to the "classic" one.

Is the screw thread normal? Can other handles be used?

In my situation, I only have the classic plate. I am going to purchase the ++ plate in the coming months. I have what I consider a fairly demanding beard profile and typically require high efficiency razors to achieve my desired level of BBS. So I can only use the La Faulx classic plate in combination with a Feather Pro Super. The extra blade exposure from the Pro Super (vs. most of the standard AC blades) provides a wonderfully smooth and effective shave for my tough beard. However, I would like to be able to shave with more conventional AC blades like the regular Feather Pro or the Schick Prolines. And that will only work for me with the increased exposure and gap of the + or ++ plate of the La Faulx. I know other shavers on the forum have the + or ++ plate and may be able to offer additional thoughts.

Regarding the thread. I keep forgetting to ask Augustin that same question. I believe it is a standard thread pattern but I don't know for certain. I am going to send a note to Augustin and ask what thread pattern it is. I would be interested in trying my Timeless Ti Crown handle with the La Faulx at some point, assuming the threading was compatible.
