Asylum Injector Razor

Well I had my 2nd Shave this morning with the Asylum Injector and I used the same blade from the previous shave. Unfortunately I didn’t have the time to do a nice relaxing shave but had to do another rushed one. So another 2 pass shave going both WTG and ATG on 2 days growth and I also didn’t do any of my normal skin stretching so how did the razor perform today? The answer is awesome! Smooth and very effective at taking down my 2 days growth while not using my best technique. I ended up at about 90% entry level BBS with a couple of spots where I have some bad cowlicks being a solid DFS. So once again I’m very impressed and it would be very easy for me to crown this razor as the best shaving SE I’ve shaved with but I’ll wait till I get a few more shaves in before I give it that title but again to me at this point this might be the best bargain out there in a razor. I’d love to see this razor in Titanium and I’m going to try a shave putting a Ti handle on to see how that goes.

Frank, I was curious how you might compare the shave with an Schick Twin Injector blade, in whichever previous Schick injector razors you may have used the twin with? Or anyone else for that matter that has experience with both setups.

I’ll bet Frank’s bottom dollar - the asylum is more efficient.

I’ll bet Frank’s bottom dollar - the asylum is more efficient.

Correct the Ayslum injectior is more efficient than any other injector I’ve used but it’s hard to say what it would be like with the twin in it.  I will say that in other injectors I notice a difference between let’s say a Schick Yellow and the Twins. The twins are sharper in my opinion but are also the marathon blades as people have gotten up to 100+ shaves out of them and my personal best was 52. An the twins don’t even get broken in until like 10 shaves where they get noticeably better. 

Love to be able to put a twin in the Asylum but it would take someone punching some precise holes in the blades.

Tonight I put a Tibam Ti handle on the Asylum and without shaving with it I have to say it feels really good in hand.  I’ll use it on Saturday with 2 days growth in this configuration 

I placed an order from Bullgoose on June 6 and received it on June 8! Really looking forward to trying this tomorrow.

I placed my order on the 6th as well and it's out for delivery today but my mail doesn't run until almost dinner time. Hopefully shave tomorrow as well. I haven't decided on which injector blade to use yet as I have several brands. Maybe I'll just tweak if I'm able to get a twin injector in it to jerk Frank's Dragonsbeard chain LOL
