That is contrary to my experience. I have a tough beard. I have used several Astra SP blades from a variety of sources and have yet to find one sharp enough to give me a decent shave. I can use them, but they are not sharp enough for my beard.

I love Astra SS blades. I find them to be both sharper and smoother than the SP blades. It is weird how blades react differently for different people.

Yeah I guess it's dependent on many variables. I switched to DE shaving precisely because Gillette cartridges were too expensive, they'd only last 3 shaves.  My favourite blades are vintage Super Iridiums followed by Gillette Silver Blues. Wizashave now only has the modern version made in 2017.

One must always view any blade (or soap & razor review for that matter) with a grain of salt as we don't know the poster's level of expertise in shaving as well as their prep technique. Many a product has been "trashed" because of these factors. Let any review be merely an opinion and not accepted dogma. I cannot stress strongly enough the fact that a shaver needs at a bare minimum three minutes of continuous water contact with their respective beard before shaving and as well to use a top shelf pre-shave cleanser to remove dirt, sebum, etc.

I too find Astra SS sharper than SP.

Astra SP have been my default blade for a couple of years.
I have taken one to 100 shaves, just for the fun of it, but found that at 70-80 or so it goes downhill.
I did the same with an Astra SS, with similar results.
Nowadays I toss them after 20 shaves, and for me the best results are between shaves #3 and #10.
