Looks fine, but not a fan of the logo placement, I have to admit that it turns me off a bit.......

The Feather logo in comparison looks better placed, even though I also think that logo placement is un-stylish in such a well crafted razor.

I think you need to set the expectation here. Is the FINISH Wolfman or ATT quality? No. Those razors are individually machined and finished by craftsman.

The Rockwell 6S is without a doubt the single most innovative, most unique, best designed, and most inspired razor of this century. The flipable base-plates provide a "3 piece adjustable" with 6 separate aggressiveness's.

The bead-blasted stainless steel is a work of art, but not to the extent of the above mentioned. I personally own a 34C, a DE89, and a Maggard MR5. Never, in my life, have I gotten a better shave than with the 6S from Rockwell.

It's definitely worth the investment. And, it's a steel (hehe) at $99.

I understand your point of view Claus. I do think the logo placement has to do with the design [reversible base plates] as well as the manufacturing technique [metal injection molding].

Overall, I am very satisfied with the latest Rockwell- very solid shaver, a hefty razor which I very much like and a great value overall. I do think they are going for a different market segment and creating a value class SS razor which I feel they have been successful in addressing. More of a tool though for sure.

There was a military member from another forum looking for one so I sold him mine for the same price I bought it for including overseas shipping. I was using plate 6 which was giving incredible shaves. I did try all the plates and can say this is a very versatile razor set.

Pulled the trigger on this one before the price increase. Now for the hard part, the waiting game!

Guys, my favorite right now is the S1 and the iKon 102, how do you think the Rockwell 6S namely the popular #3 compares to those two slants?

I bought the Rockwell at the $79 price. I would pay $99 without blinking and even more. I've been using #6 plate and I get incredible shaves, it has been one of my favorite razors. It may not have the best fit and finish but it's good enough, the shave cannot be beaten, which is the most important. If anybody is on defense don't even think about it just buy it!

Agreed, what ultimately matters is the the shave. I would like a perfect fit and finish razor but I wouldn't care for it if it didn't shave well and just serves as an eye candy.

What razor would you compare the baseplate 3 and 6?

I really can't compare it to another razor which is different then the other razors it just has a different feel to it. I use #6 because it's able to get all the hair without being overly aggressive. You just have to know how to use the razor for it to be so effective. I have a coarse beard with sensitive skin so number 6 is able to cut the beard without irritating my face. Even with such great exposure I am able to buff with no problem. I wouldn't tell an inexperienced shaver to use number 6 though at first.

I can't speak for the iKon, but the S1 has been my primary razor for over a year. I received my replacement 6S last week and have now had a chance to use it a few times, both with plates 3 and 4.  It is a different experience than the S1, but I have to say the shave is every bit as good, which I really was not expecting.

The Rockwell is heavier, and the handle is longer than my ATT Atlas, but the balance is excellent and the weight distribution makes the 6S very intuitive and easy to use.  It seems very forgiving so far, and I've had no weepers or irritation at all from my shaves so far.  

I really have been blown away by how well it is performing.  The fit and finish are very good, not as superb as the ATT, but night and day from the first version I received.  My initial plan was to ensure it was usable and the sell it, as I didn't think the Rockwell would perform the way it did.  Now, I definitely plan on keeping it and am thinking it could be a great tool to introduce my son to wet shaving.

Overall, I think it's a great razor for the money, even with the price increase.
