I skimmed this thread, skipped the bad vibes, then purchased some Chatillon Lux samples.

I thought his last post was somewhat reserved, all things considered.  ”Weird unnecessary analysis" accurately characterizes quite a few threads around here.  A choice few are off the rails crazy.  And "artisan circlejerk"?  Perhaps a little strong, but a some vendors do get bent out of shape at the drop of a hat.

What happened to this place anyways?  It used to be more laid back.  Regardless, there are a lot of awsome folks here, consumers and artisan vendors alike.  I hope things evolve in a manner favorable for all.

Laid back by whose standards?  Laid back does not mean anything goes.  Laid back does not mean that one can say whatever (s)he can state with virtually no consequences.  To start a thread or add a post that one knows will cause a divisive response is almost always deliberate and unnecessary, as far as I am, concerned.

Let me add that by divisive I most definitely do not mean different. There is a difference between the two.

Laid back as in mellow and chilled out. Definitely not the neurotic, uptight, overwrought nonsense going on in this thread or the profoundly deranged 'What is the definition of an Artisan?' thread. If someone preferring non-artisan fragrances is all it takes to make peeps go postal, then they are just being intolerant and irrational. Some people will love artisan fragrances, others not so much. C'est la vie.

Tell me where the "Neurotic, uptight, overwrought nonsense" is in this thread? I just read through the entire thing and I didn't see any of that. Nobody "went postal". If anything, it dove into ridiculousness when you brought up the whole artisan definition thing again. I don't know what your aim is here, but it's kind of baffling to me...

I wrote that because I looked through the entire thread and that is what I saw. Some of the responses to the OP seemed way over the top. Seems really strange to me, that's all. I was surprised by the change in tone from what this place had been earlier, that's all.

Gentlemen, I have closed this thread before it goes off track any more than it already has.
