We went for another walk today, on a beautiful sunny day, and we saw some blooming artichoke plants. I don't think I had ever seen that before, probably because when I grew them I always picked the chokes to eat before they ever had flowers.

John, great photos, as always.  There is an artichoke plant in front of a house not far from where I live and, yesterday, while on my walk, I noticed it in bloom again.  Like you, I am fascinated by it but think more about the delicious vegetable than the flower.  When in bloom, the artichoke reminds me of the Scottish thistle, to which it is related.
