The current phase now is not really a beard. It's just the old "3 day old Scruffy ( look, I can grow hair) face"

Sort of like rock band guys trying to look cool with the ever popular GRUNGE style.

Sad part is when they have a suit on. It just shouts," I'm being cool!  Look, I even wear tennis shoes (with no socks) because I'm special.

We call them "Profilers!"  Like teeny Boppers at a football game, walking up and down the isles , not looking at the game, but just profiling!

It's a RAUNCHY LOOK, but that's what they are after.

Actually it is a fashion forward thang.  I don't participate though.  I'm not cropping my pants and I like socks (those guys are actually wearing no show socks).

At the office where I am working 1 out of 5 (maybe less) are clean shaven. More in upper management, but that might be because of age. They tend to be a little older. I started to shave in the 80’s. I think more or less all young men shaved clean back then. At least in high school and college. The few with beards and mustaches usually where into manual labor. Just how it was. My dad worked construction and of course sported some facial hair for most of his career until he moved into management and off it went. Today it just seems to be the opposite. On my walk to the office I walk pass a construction site. Beards wherever you look. Same in the office. I kind of like being one of few clean shaven men, but being in my 50’s, I just look older with a grey beard.

If I’m in a suit, I MUST be clean shaven.  I’m pretty fair too so I can get away without shaving for a few days and still look the part.  Men should never wear a suit with sneakers, imo, sloppy and un-cool.  Currently I do prefer very tailored fitted suits with the bottom of the pant leg barely touching the top of my shoe.  Floods if you will, lol. Sneakers have their place with athleisure wear for sure, just not a suit.

I prefer quarter socks, ankles and no shows definitely slide around if you cheap out.  If you’re a fitness guy, you’ll be sorry when those no-shows do slide.

Speaking of fashion forward, anyone rocking their Red Wings with some new school soles and laces? I’m ready for summer!

Nah I'm more of a low profile plain white sneaker guy in the summer.

I sport my REDWING IRON RANGERS when I wear my custom JACK/KNIFE or RR JEANS in my walks through the woods.

Most comfortable boots I have. Next would be my DANNERS when I'm wearing khakis.

The older a man gets, the "spiffier" he should dress, so that he both looks and smells GREAT!!!
It promote CONFIDENCE exudes CLASS!!

Heck, ANYONE can look like a BUM!!!! Is that how you actually prefer to look? Then have at it.

BOTTOM LINE: look at a persons fingernails: they say a lot! And stop wearing a baseball cap, and start wearing a HAT!

Yea I must be a weirdo because I'm a young guy and I love being clean shaven. Beards are ok but the stubble look is horrible. Classic hairstyles like side parts are also not common with my generations. As for suits I don't mind sneakers with suits if they are something like ace marks brown leather ones and its more of a casual light greyish suit and its summer. But good luck getting guys of my generations into a suit to begin with.

First post here so take it easy on me, OK? I have a full beard, but shave my neck, cheeks and my head, so I probably shave more per square inch than someone that has hair. I think you can look well groomed if everything is trimmed and neat. Don't care for the stubble stuff. Looks like you're just lazy.

Welcome aboard!

IMO well trimmed beards with well defined edges are as good as it gets. Keep on truckin'.
