Another question- how does the same handle blank fit both 24 and 26 mm knots? There’s a 2mm difference.

The handle actually has a 27mm hole in it so it could accommodate either knot.

OK, thanks.  What makes a 25mm knot special that it gets its own handle size that only fits it? Sorry, I'm not trying to be a pita but it's a little odd that one handle fits a 24 or 26 mm and a different one  fits a 25mm knot.  Seems to me that all three knot sizes would fit the one handle with a 27mm diameter hole.

The 25mm is the size of the cup that the Muhle STF knot is set in. I have one of these in the Beehive style and the hole on it is 25mm so that is probably special made for the STF knot and is why its listed as such...

So what I gather looking at the Muhle knot, which has the fibres glued into a cup rather than the more common practice of gluing the fibres to a base disc, is that the cup will likely set into the handle so that the top edge of the cup should be flush with the top of the handle and it should also completely and symmetrically fill the hole. Much tighter tolerances than with a conventional knot where you can eyeball center/plumb the knot into the hole and the flaring of the bristles will fill out the hole so it all looks good. It seems like a lot of trouble but if you really want that Muhle knot then that’s what you have to do. Now that I understand it, I can sleep.

Exactly with the exception of the cup being flush with the top of the handle. I can't see the cup when I'm looking at the handle so I'm assuming it is a couple millimeter's deep into it.

Ok, that would be a better look than seeing a black cup edge.
