So today my new shelf arrived...

I know I've posted this picture before. The shelf above the mirror is my brush shelf. As you can see, on the left or two boxes. Those are the knots holding a place for the brushes they'll fill. Every brush here is synthetic.

You can kind of see in the mirror reflection the door directly behind the vanity. Above that door I placed on my new shelf, which will be the new home of my budding boar collection. I don't like we end up holding synths too. But for now, just my two boars and their soaking mug (plastic).

DANGER! DANGER! In the lower left corner of the mirror, there is an impending paperwork problem!

And the shelves look great, and really show off the brushes. Very nice!

Thanks Eric.

Not sure what your seeing in the lower left corner... A towel is lower mid-left. Hmm.

There's a razor standing next to the mirror in the lower left quadrant. That's glued down (glue dots). Won't fall on its own. Hmm.

My bad. I mistook the towel rack for the TP holder! I need to get better glasses. Or a better sense of humor!

Ahh! Now I see what you were saying.

Nah, we have the toilet next to the sink, not in front of it.

Still, imagine all of the time you could save in the morning. Hmm.

So this evening I decided to go 'basic':

I grabbed an r89 (AoS version I got new from the Bay for about $15). This is a common first razor. It is smooth but efficient enough for most.

I used the Personna Comfort Coated, which IS basic... Hear me out: I've been told that most drugstore brands, grocery store brands, etc are Personna CC blades. They do a LOT of re/unbranded sales. Presuming that's true (I hope), I essentially am using what any new shaver might pick up on a whim.

I used my newly broken in Semogue 1305. While many would likely end up with a $6-10 Omega, some are steered to the staggeringly expensive 1305 at a bank breaking $20.

For a soap, well that's a total crap shoot. Jump on any forum and ask for a suggestion. You'll get 50 different answers in an hour and you got random odds that one you were expecting will be suggested. In this case, I chose to go with Hendrix Hidden goddess after seeing it posted to the new Aquisition thread by keto .

All of this brings me to my point. We hunt for the best of the best. But usually we have so many awesome choices, likely from day 1. An intentionally simple shave turned into a great shave that I quite enjoyed.

Now, that said, my face isn't as closely shaven as with my Henson. But I'm an anomaly there: most can get a DFS or near BBS on an R89.

BTW, Hidden Goddess is awesome. It smell like a decadent desert (which I love... Just ask the scale, lol). As usual, Hendrix makes an awesome base that does a wonderful job.

Happy Hump day DFS!

BTW, I went to Hendrix Soaps and realized it is a charity soap. So, 50% of the money Pete123 makes goes to The Susan B Komen cancer foundation. I now have a tub of it enroute. Lol. Easiest, and most conscientious, decision I've made today.
