A question for anyone who might have some insight ...

As my foray back into scented soaps has been going well, I've been thinking recently about the scents that I absolutely loved. This morning for whatever reason I remembered what might be my all time favorite: Dr Jons Savannah Sunrise.

Such a wonderful, light, and sweet scent. Unfortunately, Dr Jons is no more and has been for long enough that the soap is out of stock everywhere I've looked. Thus my question...

Has anyone heard of any other soap with this scent? I'm shocked I haven't, as I know several folks have mentioned their enjoyment of this scent. It was somewhat popular. Still, I have yet to find its 'cousin'.

If not, I could probably be as happy with a lightly scented, sweet peach. I know there are usually a few peach soaps out there, during the summer months. Not that I'm looking to add soaps right now... Just pondering the options. As I said, it's a warm weather soap... And I'm on a shopping hiatus.

Have a great start to your week folks!

Not sure how close it would be to Dr Jon's but Stirling makes a peach so you could try a sample of. I don't have it.

Yet another great shave with Stirling Baker Street. Even though I am limiting myself on soaps (I currently have 4 scents) to keep an eye on irritants, I'm still enjoying my return to scented soaps.

This brings up a question ... Is juniper (one of the main scent notes in Baker) considered a winter berry? For some reason I am finding myself gravitating towards this soap in the cold weather. Figured maybe there is a well known correlation I missed.

We've almost reached the mid week mark. Have a great evening folks!

Full disclosure up front:  I myself don't know whether or not shavers consider juniper a winter berry, but IMO it's a good question. Worse yet, I'm not sure I could figure out what I think about junipers, even though I think of some soaps or perfumes - taken as a whole - as more summery or wintery.  For example, I'm likely to associate something with prominent coconut and rum notes with the summer.

All that said, junipers are coniferous.  They are members of the cypress family and can tolerate cold climates.  Some even tolerate arctic climates.  Although junipers can be found in more moderate climates, it seems fair to say that there is a correlation between juniper berries and the cold - admittedly an imperfect correlation.  To be fair though, whether shavers consider juniper berries a "winter berry" is another question.  Confused2

I can say that juniper berries are the main ingredient in gin, which I consider a warm weather liquor.  So there's that.   Tongue

I had that Dr Jon’s soap. Nice one. Wholly Kaw made a peach scented shaving cream a while back. It’s nice too.

Yep, I may have some luck with getting some Savannah Sunrise (thanks again, Tommy!!). If not, when the warm weather comes I'll probably do a deep dive into a good alternative. It's not the weather for peach yet, and I'm not in a position to be shopping, anyway.

That said, I know a few peach soaps exist: Crowne and Crane... Grooming Dept ... Wholly Kaw. So there is an alternative out there, even if it's not the same scent. I just need to explore a bit.

Appreciate the suggestions, gentlemen. Have a great day!
